"Don't." David stiffened and his voice was cold with warning.
I took a deep breath. "David, we have to look at all of this the way it really is. We can't… we can't flinch."
"You think I'm flinching?" he growled. "You think I have done anything since you left but face what I have been forced to face—without you!? Believing you were my enemy?! You think I just—"
