I Just Can...

Inside a mysterious cave located somewhere in the deep forest of Descendants Clan known as the end of the North. Smokes coming from the incense that stood at each corner of the cave could be seen lingering everywhere inside the cave, as three souls stood in front of two lifeless bodies laid on top of an altar.

The three souls were two men and a woman while the lifeless bodies were that of a man and a woman.

Among the three souls was a healer and he was muttering some words inaudible to the two standing few steps away behind him.

After a few minutes, the healer turned to the man and woman behind him. He wanted to say something but the woman beat him to it.

"Why aren't they waking up?" The woman asked. Her voice was stern.

"I thought you said they'd be up before the blood moon.. but why are they still not waking up..?" The man asked staring at healer.

"My lord, am trying my best but like I told you before... Only one person out of the two gets to wake up and not the two.." The healer said.

Immediately the healer said that, the woman snapped angrily.

"What?! What did you just say..?" She scoffed in disbelief.

"It is as you heard My lady.." the healer said.

"And why am I hearing of this now..?" She asked in anger and the healer shrugged.

"I'm sorry my...."

"Did you know of this..?" The woman asked staring at the man beside her in anger. But instead of replying, the man only sighed earning a scoff from the woman.

"How dare you..!" The woman yelled as she glared daggers at the man.

Earning no reaction from him, she took a glance towards the two lifeless bodies before storming out of the cave in anger.

However, the man only faced the healer. From the look on his face one could tell he was not in a good mood.

For many decades he's been coming to this cave every single day to check on the man who had promised him what he's being longing and searching for all his life... His mate.

And it was all thanks to his power of teleportation...

"How much longer is it going to take, healer..?" The man asked.

"I don't know for sure sir. But like I told you before, one of them doesn't have a soul and it's difficult to tell whom..." the healer said.

"That's why... only one of them will be able to wake up but if the two wakes up, then it's a miracle..." the healer added as he stared at the two bodies before walking into the inner part of the cave, where he lives.

Heaving a sigh, the man lifted his hands on the mid air and muttered some words. Suddenly, a crystal-like portal appeared. It was bright and glowing. Looking inside it, one could see where the man wants to go at the other side of the portal.

However...

The man walked towards the portal and entered inside it. Taking a last glance at the bodies laying on the alter, the portal disappeared.

*********

"Urghhh..."

Pain. Weak.

These two emotions ran through Kimberly at this moment.

Weak.... weakness could be seen written all over her face as she flickered her lashes open. Everywhere was blurry at first as the daylight was too glaring. She had to blink her eyes repeatedly to get used to it.

"Urghh..." She released a groaned as a terrible headache hit her. She woke up feeling like her head was splitting in twos. She slowly struggled, lifting her upper body weakly.

Her left hand moved to her forehead and she let out a groan. Scanning the unfamiliar place, her eyes searched for only one thing.

Water...

"Wa.. water." She muttered. Her voice was hoarse as her throat was so dry and sore.

Finally...

She found it, on the bedside table.

Immediately, she stretched her hand and took the jug of water. She didn't bother looking for a glass as she gulped in enough water directly from the jug, finishing the entire water.

She sighed weakly as she dropped the jug back on the table and slowly made to come down from the bed when..

"You're awake..."

Kimberly heard an unfamiliar voice and immediately a man in his early fifties walked into the room. He sat at a stool beside the bedside table with a small smile on his face.

Kimberly had just woken up the next day, and looking at her now, one could tell that the outcome of the effect was still there.

The effect drained most of her energy and as it stands now, she won't be able to use her power of a shapeshifter.

Right now, shapeshifting will be very hard for her. If she ever tries to shift she might die or fall sick, she has turned weak that even a baby can beat her up.

Kimberly nodded her head at the man in response to what he had asked her. Her face was still pale but not like before when she was still unconscious.

"Everything will be fine, I will find a way to heal you completely... and also help you get your powers back..." The man said and Kimberly nodded. But the next second, Kimberly's eyes widened and she looked at the man who smiled in return.

"I didn't hear him correctly, did I..?" She thought inwardly.

"You did.." The man said plainly and Kimberly's face drained blood instantly.

"You can hear my thoughts..?" She asked still not believing it and The man nodded.

"What.. How.." Kimberly was dumbstruck.

"I just can.. that's one of the things I can do.." The man said to Kimberly who was looking at him as if he suddenly grew horns.

"And my powers...?" Kimberly asked eagerly.

"I just happened to know..." He said simply and she nodded.

However...

Kimberly was curious, but she didn't want to make the man that helped her uncomfortable, by asking him about his identity and so on.

But nevertheless, curiosity got the best of her and she couldn't help but ask..

"But How did I.."Kimberly asked.

"Someone.. Someone brought you here..." the man interrupted, he knew what she was about to ask.

He knew from the onset when he began the conversation that she ought to throw him a lot of questions. But however, he didn't mind answering all the questions she'd throw to him.

"Someone...?" Kimberly thought inwardly.

"Mmh.." He nodded and Kimberly looked at him.

"Oh.." she mouthed, she had forgotten he could hear her thoughts.

At that moment, the man stood up. He had came to check up on her. And now that she is awake and with their conversation earlier he could tell she's improving.

Taking a glance at her, he made to walk out of the room when...

"Would you mind telling me who that is..?" Kimberly finally asked making the man to halt in his steps.

With a smile that was gone immediately as it came, he turned to her and replied...

"My son.."
