This was a Mistake

The next day Liam left for work early, without saying goodbye to his wife Jade.

Erin and Daniel sat at the breakfast table with Anne and Emily. The butler poured coffee for the adults and a glass of apple juice for Anne.

"Em, Can you go ask Jade to join us for breakfast?" Erin asked her daughter.

"Sure mom," Emily agreed, but just as she got up the family saw Jade coming down the corridor pulling a suitcase behind her and swinging a large handbag.

Jade's hair was tied in a high bun, she wore workout clothes and sneakers; her eyes looked red and puffy.

She struggled to pull the heavy bag, panting and muttering under her breath as she approached the front door.

Erin jumped up immediately and ran over to her, "Jade! Where are you going?" she said trying to bring her daughter-in-law into her arms.

Jade cried tears of sadness, feeling Erin's arms around her but she wriggled away, "I have to go," she mumbled.
