120 Coming Home

Lina felt conflicted as she removed the hangers from the wardrobe and folded Julie's clothes. This was a hard time and Julie's sorrowful cries were difficult to listen to, but Lina felt a small sense of excitement when she thought about them returning to Beijing.

She had grown fed up of New York and this 'temporary' life as William called it. Perhaps now upon their return, she could convince him to commit to her.

"Nana ohhhh my nana...." Julie sobbed into her pillow, kicking her legs and banging her head on the bed.

Lina bit her lip. She felt worried about Julie, she was after all just a kid, in need of some comfort, so she tried to talk to her.

"Julie honey," she said rubbing her back, "I know you're upset and so sad.... I felt the same after my mom passed. I know you wish you could see her again, but she'll be watching you everyday and I'm sure she's so proud of you."

"I have noone!" Julie cried louder, "Nana was the only one who really loved me!"
