124 Lie for Me

After what seemed like a never-ending forty minutes, Lina woke to the sound of Will opening the car door and getting inside of the Porsche.

His eyes looked red and tired, and he ordered the driver, "Take us to the Chaoyang district!"

"Um.. Actually," Lina interjected, "I live in the Haidian district."

Will frowned and turned to face her, "You told me that you lived nearby."

Lina's eyed grew wider, "Ah, that was when we first met and I didn't want to tell you too much."

"Fine," he said taking a pack of cigarettes out of his inner-suit pocket and lighting up a long slim cigarette.

Lina watched him carefully during the ride; he rarely smoked but when he did, it was clear that he was stressed.

"I'm sorry for your loss Will," she said patting his leg in an attempt to comfort him.

He nodded his head in silence and whispered some quiet words to himself.
