Her Curse His Boon

Walking towards her cabin on her white apron, Florence was all set to get started when Jace, the gold hearted guy came running to her.


"Dr. Dawson, you'll have to go to police station to see the new recruited officer who's supposed to be handling the case of the missing body today."


Not so happy with the news, she got herself ready for going after assisting some works to Jace until she comes back.


It's been freaking twenty minutes since I'm waiting for that New officer to arrive but still there's no single sign of him yet. I could've solved a case already if I was in my lab but eh, here I'm stuck waiting for the officer to discuss about the body which is now nowhere to be found. I don't get one thing clear, where did the body go? Well wherever it is, police will find it but yeah I'll be thankful if that officer arrives soon.


Bored with the continuous waiting, I thought of doing something of my interest and oh Lala! I put the heavy, interesting and secretive book called "THE VAMPIRE WEREWOLF ERA" on the desk out of my bag which I had luckily collected from the library before coming here. The first page that I had turned out to read had a title "THE SECRETS" and I knew that I'm definitely going to have a good time reading it.


As I was all set to start the journey of secrets with the book on my hand, "Hello to the lady with the book on her hands." A loud, husky and dominating voice rang through my eardrums. "Sorry for making you wait Ms...."


"Well I would've said the same if I wouldn't have to wait for you for so long Mr.... Paxton Russell." Following my gaze to his badge, he gave a light smile.


"Well it seems you really didn't have that bad time waiting." He glanced at the book on my hand while speaking.


"Well I must say you've got bad timing." I folded the very first page in front of him marking it to which he gave a smirk. "Okay so Ms. Dawson, I won't take your time now. Let's talk business." He started folding his sleeves while walking towards the edge of the desk revealing his muscular arms.


"So Ms. Dawson, can you please tell me what exactly happened in the lab?" Sitting at the edge of the desk, he asked me the question while his one leg resting at the chair next to me while the other on the floor.


"Well the body was handed over to our lab by police for the investigation and I was working on it. The sudden power cut happened out of nowhere and the body disappeared at the time." I tried to make it as short as possible so that I could get back to my work soon.


"The body disappeared, just like that?" 


"Ah well that's the situation right now."


"Alright, you can go now Ms. Dawson, I'll see you later when needed."


I moved my hand towards the table to collect the book and just as I turned around holding the book on my right hand, I felt someone's hold on my left hand.


"Mr. Russell, can you explain this?" With my brows raised a little, I asked looking at his hand which was holding my hand. "This." Pointing towards the cut I had on my index finger, he continued speaking. "This cut seems to be unusual. How did you get it?"


"Well I don't find it unusual, just work things." I pulled my hand back and gave a smile, which wasn't definitely an obvious smile. "Okay if you say so." He returned a smile and I just walked out from there and got myself a cab for lab and my gaze  upon the cut. It was just a cut, what strange did that officer find in it?
