Unexpected help

Six months later

"Shit!!! I'm going to be late. Ragini! Mitali! Why do you girls take so much time to get ready?" Deep was looking at the clock all the time. He had some important meetings in office. And here Motali and Ragini were making him late. He needed to drop Mitali to her office abd Ragini to school. So he was sure he would be late. As a boss, it was not a good example for the employees.

"We are ready. Who said we take too much time?" Mitali rolled her eyes.

"You took one hour just to put uniform on her." Deep pointed at Ragini and smiled bitterly. Ragini put her hands on her waist narrowing her eyes, "And you couldn't even knot your tie perfect."

Ragini and Mitali burst our laughing while Deep found she was right. He went red in embarrassment. Suddenly he noticed Ragini was tugging his trousers. When he squatted in front of her, she tied the knot properly, "Now you are looking so handsome, I wonder if girls start to envy me for being close to such a dashing man."

Mitali was trying hard to control her laughter.

"So, little girl, are you calling me handsome?" Deep raised an eyebrow.

"No way! I'm just praising God for creating a piece like you and not making you late now."

Mitali couldn't control anymore. She laughed out loudly. Ragini started to laugh with her too. Deep was at a loss for work but he loved watching both of them so carefree.

It's been six month, Mitali started to forget about her pains, it's been six month, Ragini started to overcome her past. Not that she completely forgot Rajiv and Sanjana but she just managed to live with her truths gradually. That's all Deep wanted. He never wanted to erase their memories completely.

"Get in the car now. I'm late today." He opened the car for them and started driving. After dropping them to their respective locations, he went to his office. But surprisingly he found Drishti was managing the meetings for him. Though it was a rare scene, he couldn't enjoy it. His heart tightened suddenly. He was looking at her without blinking.

Inhaling deep breaths, he entered the meeting room. He sat beside her and asked, "How come you've got some interest in the business?"

"We need to talk." Drishti said while turning the laptop off, "I've managed things here. Can you give me some time?"

Maybe Deep knew what she wanted to talk about. Though he didn't want it to be happened, he had no way either. If she had taken her decisions, no one could prevent it.

"Say it."

"I want to terminate my shares." She took a deep breath, "I want to make the will in such a way, Ragini will get the property after turning 18. Before that the whole company will be yours abd once she turned 18, that 30% will be hears even if you left with nothing."

Deep laughed a little. He didn't know how to react else, "I understand. But don't you believe me with Ragini?"

"I don't even believe myself bhai! How can I believe others? Not that I don't but you know betrayal comes from the unpredictable ones." She sighed.

"Okay, I will talk to lawyer. I can't stop you anymore. I don't have the power to stop you." Deep shook his head, "By the way Ragini's adoption is under process. I wonder how many years the court will take."

Deep was frustrated. Being a top businessman, he always got everything how he wanted. But this time court was giving him a hard time. Six months were gone and they told him to wait for more two months while it could be only a matter of few days.

"I just hope it doesn't get much late. Time is precious, right?" She smiled faintly.

"Well, why didn't you hand the proofs to police yet? Shalini is thinking she can do anything she wants." Deep was curious to know why they took such a decision. He didn't get any reason yet.

"Let police do a lazy investigation. I just don't want the mastermind escape so soon. Whoever it is will die in my hands." She gritted her teeth.

"What do you mean? You are not going to kill anyone, are you?" Deep was frightened now. She never thought twice before killing that man. She can't repeat it.

"Are you scared, bhai? Don't be. I didn't plan to do this. But maybe I know the mastermind."

Deep was curious to know about the mastermind but a call disturbed their chitchat suddenly. Deep got a call from an unknown number. With a frown, he recieved the call.

"Damn it!" Deep punched the desk and guestered Drishti to get up. Hurriedly they reached Dutt publication. There was a meeting of shareholders who again tried to create trouble. So Raunak's assistant called him to go there.

In the middle of the meeting, Deep and Drishti reached.

"Here you come, Mr. Roy. We gave you six months. Now it's not possible to leave the company like this. Rightfully those shares will be divided equally into us."

Drishti raised an eyebrow. They were really greedy.

"As long as I know, rightfully it belongs to Ragini and her parents will be the owner until she turns 18. As Deep bhai is going to adopt her, he will get that after the adoption." Drishti smirked at them.

"First of Mrs. Sen, you are merely an author here. We don't care about your personal relationship with Mr. Dutt. You have nothing to say here, I think." A shareholder said.

Drishti knew it was true but they were being more truthful all of a sudden. They just used truths for their advantages.

"We can wait till the adoption." She suggested.

"Company is running on losses. We need a leader to take it to another level." they argued.

Deep and Drishti exchanged glances. They were feeling helpless. It would be unfair to Ragini is that happened. It was the last sign of Rajiv. But maybe God was not that merciless to snatch everything from her. Suddenly a sound from behind gave them hope,

"Who said Ragini is adopted? The adoption process got permitted today."

The old, deep voice echoed. From the vocal, Drishti could say that man had a great aura. When they turned their head to see who it was, it turned the judge of Ragini's case.

Was it a dream? How did the judge appear by himself?

With a polite smile, he handed Deep the permission of adoption. He looked at the papers carefully. So from now on Ragini was his daughter, his and Mitali's.

The shareholders had nothing to say anymore. Now there was nothing left to bargain. Deep would take over rightfully and that was final.

After handling the chaos there, Deep found that judge was still waiting for him.

"Mr. Roy congratulations for being a dad." He smiled. The old man's smile was charming though.

"May I know why you helped he like this? Normally it takes eight months according to Indian law. But you managed it in six months." Deep was confused.

"Hmm....but someone asked me to help you and I couldn't reject him. After all he's my younger brother." He smiled and guestered at the man standing near the window. Deep curious looked at him. But it seemed like time had stopped. His breath became heavy as that man started to take steps towards him.

"Mr. Goyenka." Deep muttered in a low voice that caught Drishti's attention. Goyenka, that judge was also Goyenka, Deep's mom.....married a Goyenka.

Shit!

"Deep, how are you?"

This question shook him from inside. How was he? Good? Maybe.

"Why are you here?" He asked in a stern voice. Drishti knew it was his step dad. The situation was really awkward. His mom even tried to kill his dad after divorce and now his step dad came to meet.

"Can we talk?" His tone was pleading.

"What's the point of talking?"

"please....your mom...."

"She's not my mom. Just my dad's ex wife. That wife who tried to kill him." Deep gritted his teeth. That woman ruined his whole life.

"Deep, calm down. I know what she did was wrong. You dad and you were innocent. She was the culprit." He agreed.

"Now I understand how she got out of all these so easily. Seemed like her brother in law was a lawyer then." Deep looked at the judge from the side of his eyes.

"Sorry Deep, I didn't know she would do anything like this. But I think you don't know she died, four months ago."

That shouldn't bother him but he didn't know why it hurt him even though a little. After all these, she was still the person who carried him in her womb.

"Died?"

That's not what he accepted. Well, he didn't care about her life after that.

He nodded, "But before her death, she asked for a favor, she asked us to help you with Ragini's case. And...." He handed a paper towards him.

"That's the last letter she wrote to you." He made him hold that tightly, "Not asking you to forgive her. Just read the letter once when you go home. It contains all of her guilts and repents. Stay happy and safe. Wish you a very happy family. I don't know we will meet again or not, but give my greetings to you wife and daughter. Good bye son."

Deep didn't know why his heart clenched. He didn't feel rage, if something was in his heart, it was only pain. His gaze suddenly turned to Drishti and he broke into tears, hugging her tightly.....
