The disappointment in his eyes was clearly feigned, quickly supplanted by the warmth that had characterized his regard for her as of late.
"You have more important things to do with your time," he said, moving to the bed nonetheless and taking a seat. He extended his hand to tuck her loose hair behind her ear. "It makes me happy to see you do this for me, letting your hair down once again."
She furrowed her brow at his baffling arrogance, the only reason she had her hair down was that she couldn't spare the extra minute.
"I'm serious." She said, "We'll sleep beside each other, or I'll sleep, and you can keep watch, however you manage it. But you must enter my dreams again."
His lips curved into a smile. "I've told you before that you don't have to show me. Just tell me anything and I'll believe it, no matter what it is."
