Hollywood What If Chapter 471
"I got a jar of dirt~ I got a jar of dirt~"
Jack Sparrow sang while waving the jar of dirt in his hands. He fell down the stairs of the ship, and the people around him cringed in pain.
Even Davy Jones saw what happened.
"Got it!"
Then, he raised his hands, still holding the jar as if nothing had happened.
"Come to negotiate, ay, have you, slimy git? Look what I got?"
Jack Sparrow was holding the jar, taunting Davy Jones while singing.
"I got a jar of dirt~ I got a jar of dirt~ and guess what's inside it!?"
"Enough!"
Davy Jones roared, and the ship, the Flying Dutchman, released its cannons right in front of Jack Sparrow's ship.
Jack Sparrow's expression winced.
"Hard to starboard."
"Cut—!"
Kazir clapped his hands while the whole cast was confused. They were in a green screen studio with fake ships shaking the way real ships moved on the ocean.
The whole cast was confused... because that entire scene was not in the script.
Even Orlando's face had a "what the hell is going on" expression. What Johnny Depp did was an ad-lib.
But because the film was rolling, the cast stayed in character. Ad-lib was not a new thing, and they understood that the show must go on. And surprisingly, they managed to keep in character.
"Johnny, that was impressive."
"I forgot my line, so I decided to go with random bullshit instead?" Johnny Depp was slurring his speech, perhaps still in character as Captain Jack Sparrow.
"Keep it going. Let's reshoot that scene to make it more intact. Orlando and Keira, just repeat your acting like you guys are confused. And Bill, keep the stern face."
Bill Nighy, the actor who played Davy Jones, didn't have any tentacles slithering around his neck. Instead, he was wearing a motion capture suit, and his face had some dots, particularly around his mouth and eyes. He didn't look menacing at all. He looked goofy in his skin-tight suit and clown-like painted face.
The ones responsible for creating Davy Jones's iconic look were the visual effects editors, who would also spend months working on that.
For these two movies, Grey Pictures might have to spend around $400 million combined. And that was just the minimum, the biggest factor they had to focus on was the visual effects. Once successful, the first and second movies had the chance to surpass $1 billion at the box office, each.
The shooting restarted, and the cameras began recording the scenes again.
Kazir turned around and saw some of the cast, who were not part of the scene, watching from behind.
Kazir recognized one of them. Amber Heard, this small actress only had a minor role in the movie. She was one of the hookers who slapped Jack Sparrow. That was it.
Normally, small actresses like her couldn't stay long on the filming set once they were done with their jobs. The production crew was strict in keeping the project protected from the noisy presence of paparazzi. They made sure that no outsiders knew the plot of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Even most members of the crew didn't know the whole plot of the movie. Only a few selected people had the privilege to know it.
Sometimes, if necessary, the director had to keep the final part of the script hidden so that the actors would experience true surprises once they were close to the ending. But that kind of thing usually happened when the filming used a chronological order, and that was expensive as hell.
Kazir didn't follow that method because he had no intention of wasting money. So today, he was filming a scene that was in the middle of the second movie, even though the filming had just started a month ago.
Anyway, Kazir was not comfortable with Amber Heard staying on the set. The woman had already finished her role two weeks ago, and there was no reason for her to remain.
Unfortunately, Amber and Johnny were currently dating, and Kazir couldn't stop the famous actor from bringing his girlfriend to the job site. He didn't want to make Johnny mad and possibly affect their relationship while filming the movie.
Kazir put importance on the mentality of the cast.
So Kazir didn't have a choice but to let Amber Heard sign a non-disclosure agreement instead.
While thinking about it, Kazir thought of finding fault with Amber so that Johnny would realize his girlfriend was a walking red flag. The actor should break up with the woman before things got worse. It was better for both of them. Johnny would be free, while Amber wouldn't suffer from backlash.
It was fortunate that they were still not married.
The thing was that Kazir had no idea how to do that. He had never done anything like that before.
If not for the betterment of Johnny's life, Kazir would never even consider it.
Once the filming was done that day, the crew started packing up the equipment while the actors left one by one. They were in the city, so the cast could do what they wanted... as long as they didn't affect the project.
Scarlett was waiting for Kazir to leave the studio. When Kazir came out, the actress hugged him.
"I miss you."
"I miss you too."
While they were hugging, Scarlett saw a certain woman walking next to Johnny Depp.
"Kazir... why is that woman on your set?" she asked.
"Are you talking about Amber Heard?"
"Yeah, that bitch."
"She is Johnny's girlfriend, and she has a small role in the movie. Why did you ask?"
"Babe... you probably didn't know, but that woman is friends with your half-sister."
"..."
That was the first time Kazir heard that news.
