Chapter Twelve [ Vaccination in large numbers]

Chapter Twelve [Vaccination in large numbers]

Even if cars are prevented to transport, most people are compelled to follow the mass vaccination and must come and be injected with the available medicine. Rudolf is the only member of the family qualified for the vaccine because Rhoda is pregnant and Robert is still under the age of 18.

"I hope you understand your responsibility to yourself, Honey," Rhoda hints.

"What do you mean?" Rudolf inquires.

“Even if you haven't been told, you need to be fully vaccinated and you have the numbers already from Dr. Glen."

Rhoda clarifies as she adjusts Rudolf's polo shirt's collar, he's ready to leave Rhoda and Robert at home.

“Bye Daddy," as Robert waves his hands Rudolf never forgets to kiss Rhoda and Robert.

When Rudolf returns after a second, he exclaims,

"Honey, I shall miss you! I wish I could have vaccination right now," Rudolf says as he grabs Roberts' hair and dashes outside in the scorching heat. "I wish I could get a vaccine right now," he continued, his voice echoing through the woods. Rhoda laughed as he disappeared.

He didn't want to be bothered or delayed because of the pandemic, so he quickly ignored the voices, as he had grown accustomed to the woman screaming in the middle of the night. He is almost near the medical mission clinic and the entrance door has a few people online already.

” Good, I will be next to them and I can return home by noon time. Lord bless me today and protect me from any danger and destruction in Jesus' mighty name, Amen“ as he says it in prayer, a woman runs after him.

"What's your problem?" Rudolf asks in shock, recognizing her as the screaming woman from the bushes.

"I'm hungry," she replied.

"Can you give me money for food?" Her hair is crumpled and frizzy with dirty tough clothes, and she begs as if she's insane.

Rudolf never refuses anyone in need, no matter how much it costs. Virtually He's empty-handed, but he can spare a centavo to gratify the poor.

He didn't want to exaggerate the goodness to misery, thus giving in public felt displeasing. He had P50.oo and so he snatched her filthy hands and brought her to a secret spot to give her the money. The woman accepts the money but prefers to offer sex to Rudolf in exchange.

Rudolf recalls the lessons on social separation in public settings, and he shoves her purposefully, ordering the guard to take responsibility for her illicit actions against him, resulting in a public scandal.

"I'm not a bad guy," he claims,

"but I can't take advantage of someone as vulnerable as you!" Rudolf urges. As he hurries into the clinic, he adds,

"Guard, soothe, and teach her a lesson."

"Doctor Glen, how are you doing?” Rudolf inquires.

"I'm alone here all the time and no one can help me," He said. "Do you know somebody who has a medical background who could apply here as my assistant?" Dr. Glen asks Rudolf adding,

‘They'll simply collect their names and assign them a schedule number tag. Request a phone number so that they may schedule their vaccines and avoid any delays or dis-ease contamination.” the doctor mentions adding,

"Someone should be strong in endurance and energy to conquer and combat the incoming and outgoing problems here," Dr. Glen says. Rudolf responds,

"I'll see what I can do to aid you," Rudolf insists as Dr. Glen grabs the vials and syringes to begin immunization.

As time passed, Rudolf waited for someone who he felt could assist him, so he took his phone and waited for a response. The Rescuer's squad rushed towards him, saying, "Good, you came quickly." Rudolf smiled at the rescuers.

Rudolf inquired, "What's your name again?"

He said, "Just call me Ding."

"Come on Ding, I knew you needed a job and a sideline, and this is it," Rudolf teased.

"Yes Sir, thanks to our operation, all of us have been properly vaccinated,"

Ding answered as Rudolf led him inside and handed him over to Dr. Glen.

Ding got to work with Dr. Glen on his responsibilities. Seven people are on the line at the moment. They should all be finished by early afternoon. Rudolf dashes after being vaccinated and stops by a drug store to stock up on medicine for himself, Rhoda, and Robert in case of an emergency, exactly as Rhoda did.

"Doctor, I've been thoroughly briefed by the Department of Health and the World Health Organization about the medicines used for immunization against Covid -19. There are three currently available. But this one appeared unfamiliar. We looked up the brand names because I expected all of the vials sent here to be beneficial in combating the horrible infection.” Ding stated as he notices the issues

"I'll keep this one while I try to figure out what's going on," Ding suggests.

"That's a great idea, Ding. Keep up the good work. God bless you," Dr. Glen ended.

Rudolf arrives home before dark.

"Aha, you're in good condition now, my dear son," Rudolf exclaims happily as he approaches the entrance door and opens it with a big surprise.

” Daddy!” Robert exclaimed.

"Wow, you can speak now!" Rudolf exclaimed, beaming. "God is truly awesome and he healed your pains," Rudolf added. “Praise God!" Robert exclaimed.

Rhoda exclaimed with a chuckle. "Come on Honey, we have something for tonight's dinner," Rudolf suggests as he opens all the groceries and his phone to listen to music and the news.

'Good evening people, Today’s fatality cases increase while positive cases of coronavirus decreased due to vaccine and precautionary measures practiced by all people across the country. Our leader would like to express heartfelt gratitude for all your help in saving human lives. This is your anchorwoman, Cathy, and good evening.'

"That's not a good result yet since people dying increases even though positive instances decrease, What a result?" Rudolf says as he switches the station and listens to Christian songs on YouTube.

“Come on, my sweetheart, I miss you!” Rudolf said to Robert as he cuddles.

” How’s your day, little Honey?" Rudolf asks as he holds Robert and kisses Rhoda in the kitchen. She prepares Roberts' special foods.

“What about me?” Rudolf teases.

“This fried chicken and rice for you Honey “Rhoda replied adding,

"I cooked Tinola this afternoon and ate some of it. Any leftovers are OK for our dinner if you wish."

"Wow, can I eat mommy?" Robert asks.

"Just a little, my dear is excellent for you," Rhoda said adding, "Milk is also a small amount for your stomach. You've just recovered from dysentery? " Rhoda adds,

"but you also need an alternative to milk, such as mashed potatoes, which is also good for a sensitive stomach."

Rhoda simply as she instructed,

"Let's start with a little prayer. But first, listen to today's Bible reading.

‘Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gathers in my name, there am I with them(Mt.18:18-19)

"If we agreed to pray to Jesus Christ to heal Robert and remove all of his pain. Jesus promises to answer our prayer with faith, believe and trust Him." Rhoda explains as she looks at her husband and son who are quietly listening, adding, "Jesus healed also the pains of daddy and mommy because Jesus is a powerful God.

“Amen," said Rudolf and Robert.

“Let’s eat now!” Rhoda exclaimed joyfully.

Rhoda has just done with all her undertakings and decided to wash her feet outside the house where the faucets are. When she saw brilliant light above the forest again, she just took a pail of water and washed outside the kitchen.

"What's wrong with me?" she wondered.

"People might think I'm crazy because of what I see that others don't," she continues to question.

Rudolf and Robert came asking,

"What are you doing there, Honey?" Rudolf wonders.

"Did you see that brilliant light in the forest, honey?" Rhoda asks Rudolf, who is holding Robert in his arms.

"Not really," he responds.

"I can see a shadow of light coming from the light post over there." He added

"That brilliant forest over there in the west," Rhoda insists, pointing to it with her finger.

"Now it's gone," Rhoda remarked.

"Perhaps a luminous reflection of the twilight zone," Rudolf speculated,

"since it's half past six and sunsets provide techniques for the night to spread the darkness."

"Perhaps those are US military missiles?" Rhoda asks.

"We'll see in the future," Rudolf stated again,

"as you said, everything has its seasons.” Rhoda checks all the openings and holes to make sure no insects, mosquitoes, or infections may get in. They all turn to enter the tiny bedroom to relax.

At midnight, Rhoda asks Rudolf, "What's wrong with you, honey?" after being abruptly awakened.

"I can't move freely and I feel weary as my eyes compel me to sleep, Honey," Rudolf replied.

"You're shivering!" Rhoda exclaims as she rises and searches the medicine cabinet for the paracetamol to alleviate his aches and lower his body temperature.

Rhoda gave Rudolf the medicine and a glass of cold water. She also massaged him and wiped his body with a wet cloth now and again.

"Thank you for taking care of me Honey," Rudolf remarked.

"I'm always here for you and our boy, Honey," Rhoda said speculating,

"Your body reacted to the immunization, and it lasted 4 to 7 days. So, honey, be

patient!"

Rhoda reminded Rudolf as she kissed and hugged him throughout the night.
