Jack's feet hit the cement sidewalk and seconds after he did there would be cracks in it which he didn't notice.
After hearing Jasper's shout through the phone, he quickly grabbed a red hoodie he remembered he had and he ran out with his face covered.
He was currently walking a little faster than normal because if he ran, he would truly get himself into jail and he'd probably stay there for a week. The rules of Ainstar city were quite absurd but the Mayor was crazier though no one said it outside because they were afraid of jail.
More importantly, he reached the department store where he was working and he met a fuming Jasper, his lower chin had started to turn a little red and Jack seeing this took a step back.
This was 'Angry Jasper 2.0', a form he had only seen 2 times in the past and boy o boy, they weren't easy.
The moment Jasper noticed Jack, he ran at him and Jack was expecting a slap or a punch but Jasper grabbed his arm and pulled Jack out or more correctly he didn't.
Jack was still in the same spot and Jasper felt like he was trying to pull a truck. The force had pulled him back and he practically yanked himself to the ground with a bump.
Jack looked at Jasper with widened eyes and he held out a hand which Jasper hurriedly accepted.
"JUST RUN THERE! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!" he shouted.
"Um... Address?" Jack replied.
"WINDERLANE STREET! ROADBLOCK 15! BUILDING B!" Jasper screamed at Jack and he took off on foot.
It was only five minutes away and looking at his phone, Jack saw 10:59am and immediately he joined Jasper in the sprint.
They ignored all the screams and shouts of the policemen that were too lazy to bother chasing them while eating donuts and ice creams.
"...I believe I can fly~ I believe I can touch the skies~!"
Jasper's 'alarm' told us that it was already 11:00am but we didn't stop running.
"Fuck." Jasper cursed under his breath. He rarely cursed but being 'Angry Jasper 2.0' was driving him over the edge.
He looked behind him and he saw Jack who was jugging and despite that he was keeping up with him. His eyes widened in shock and surprise.
"Hey Jack, carry me princess style and run at full speed!"
"Huh? Dude you know I don't swing that way." Jack replied.
"Just do it!"
"Ok."
Jack scooped Jasper up and he put more pressure on his legs and he sped forward. Immediately, he disappeared causing some stares and looks of shock in the area.
{A minute ago at the MMO company]
In a fairly large reception, with a cubicle at one corner at the room and at the other corner where 20 iron seats that were conjoined. Only 17 had been occupied and some were staring at the clock.
It was almost 11:00am and they were just 17 out of 20 present. The room was very silent save for the sound of some birds outside and the sound of fingers hitting a keyboard with vigor.
~click~ ~clicity~ ~clack~ ~click~...
The minute hand reached the number 11 on the clock and some alarms sounded from the phones of the waiting applicants and they were quickly shot off. The thoughts in the minds of most of them were...
'Shouldn't they have given us the pods or head sets already?'
'They aren't preparing or anything?'
'Is something happening in the process pheraps?'
When it was 11:01, one of the them stood up to ask unable to hold it in any longer. He walked to the cubicle where the receptionist was typing away.
"Um... excuse me... W-"
~BAM!~
The door was flung open and the person was cut short of his words. The door spat out two 18 year old boys with shocked looks on their faces, not believing what just happened.
"What the hell was that man?!" Jasper screamed out only to see Jack with the same look on his face.
"....I don't know...."
Jasper's breathing was heavy, not because of what just happened, but fear and... excitement?
The other applicants were wondering what the hell was happening, one moment it was as silent as a graveyard and the next moment, two crazy boys burst through the door and were talking to each other in fearful tones.
For the first time, the receptionist looked up from the computer and glanced at Jack and Jasper through her thick lens glasses and she looked back to her work almost immediately not caring about what happened.
Jack stood up and for the first time he looked around to see 17 applicants staring at him and he did something that looked absurd to Jasper.
He gave a bow and he said...
"Let's just pretend that didn't happen!"
"Please..."
Jasper stood up too and he took a seat at the end of the conjoined chairs and Jack followed. The others were simply expressionless and they stared for some time.
The guy at the cubicle had the same expressionless face and then he turned back and spoke again.
"Whe-"
~BAM!~
He turned around in annoyance to see who interrupted him again but all those feelings went out the window because of who he saw.
A young girl who looked 18, she wore a black shirt and black shorts, her black necklace was hanging down to her chest and it blended well with her shirt, of one didn't see it trailing down from her neck, they wouldn't see it.
Her black heels were a high and they hit the tiles with confidence, she wore a black coat that she didn't place her hands inside, they were just hanging on her shoulders.
Her fair white skin was contrasting to her black dressing and her purple eyes made her even more perfect. Everyone knew her, the upstart actress who had countless suitors chasing after her despite her age...
