Feral Fury

Blood and drool mixed up in Jack's mouth and trailed down his lips, landing on the ground.

Mr. Madison had already set off on foot, screaming and running while Jack stood in a spot, staring at the older NPC. In a flash, he disappeared and Mr. Madison's head went with it, blood rushing out like a fountain of strawberry juice.

Alarms blared, and footsteps hit the ceramic tiles, bringing a body closer to its destination. The red lights had been turned on, dyeing the hallways in a crimson hue.

A door was flung open, and the secretary from before walked in, seeing 17 other colleagues seated around a round table, plus the CEO, Mr. Frederick Anderson.

"Sir! It's been confirmed," she started to talk as she walked to the table. "Player code #A018–Jack Zeus–has entered the berserk state."

"Ho, it's really true. I never thought he'd be able to get that skill so fast..." Mr. Frederick muttered as he rested nonchalantly on his chair.

"...but it's not time for him to wield such a dangerous skill." He raised his voice a few decibels so that everyone in the room could hear him.

"Activate the [Nebula Flush], remove that skill from his body system. He's wearing the suit, right?"

"Yes, sir," the secretary spoke in response.

"Good. Also, reverse the game time for player #A018 and put him in the village near Dreadmaw Peak."

"A-are you sure, sir?"

"For someone able to get [Feral Fury] so fast, he should be able to handle it."

The secretary gulped and left to inform the head programmers of Mr. Frederick's decision.

"Urgh..."

Jack woke up with a groan and found himself looking at a ceiling. His body shot up in a flash. He remembered being with Sasha and then falling... to find himself on a bed in an old-styled room.

"Hmm... Open system panel," he muttered. For some reason, he felt like he knew all the commands used in this game, at least for the players.

A second after he uttered those words, a sky blue translucent screen popped up in front of his face, not too far and not too close. He couldn't believe what he saw next.

[Deleted skill - Sorry, you accidentally activated a dangerously powerful skill that is meant to come later in the story, so we had to take necessary action and remove it from you. Don't worry, you'll have it back when the time has come. Check your skill box; we dropped another one for you in compensation. Have fun.

Okay, two things surprised him. The skill and the stats. The former made him a bit mad. They took a skill from him and gave him one that functioned with mana, which was something he didn't have at the moment. They didn't even tell him how to awaken!

He felt like he was forgetting something.

"Ah! yes. I don't remember using that skill. Heck, I just started playing. Something's fishy. Hmm... they said it was 'dangerously powerful', the best thing that comes to mind is a berserk skill. A berserk skill seems like the most plausible explanation.

Maybe something happened to my mind and I got a little anemic. Yes, that's the explanation I'll stick with."

He just didn't know how close to the truth he was, and then he turned his attention to the latter cause of his surprise–his stats.

The first thought that came to his mind was, 'I'm Superman!' or so I, the author, would have wanted him to think.

'I'm not normal,' he thought. It had started on the day of his graduation, the day he got ambushed and was arrested, but he couldn't remember anything after that.

"Maybe I truly am anemic." Jack thought out loud. Suddenly, he heard footsteps from beyond his door, and he quickly laid back and drew up the blanket, pretending to be asleep.

The door opened gently, like the culprit didn't want to wake him up, and the person walked in and closed the door. At that moment, he peeked a bit, and his jaw almost dropped when he saw what his childhood friend–Scylla Eirwen–was wearing.
