27 – A Glimmer of Hope

"Help? Help in what way?" I asked in a cautious tone.

"Those monsters." She wiped her tears. "I've been so overwhelmed against them. I don't know if I can survive their next attacks or not. They have ruined my garden."

Bonnie took a few steps forward. "But I don't see any damage anywhere."

"You only see one side. On the other side, the damage is terrible." She turned around. "I can show you if you don't believe me."

Bonnie looked at me. "How about this, Axel? I think we better follow her. My gut tells me that she's not a bad person. If she wanted to harm us, she would have done it long ago."

The tiny girl's words make sense, but we must remain vigilant. "But…."

"I will give a lot for you." The woman approached us, and then vines came from all sides.

At first, we prepared to defend ourselves, expecting to be attacked. However, it turned out that the ends of those things carried various kinds of fruits.

"This…." Bonnie took an apple from one of the vines.

"Just like you said." The pink-haired woman sighed. "If I intended to attack you guys, I would have done it long ago."

Bonnie looked at me again.

"All right, we follow her." I made my decision but still whispered to the armored girl. "Stay alert, Bonnie."

"I am Azalea, a human who participated in a superpower experiment. At that time, I needed money, so I was willing to do anything." She explained as she started walking again. "I was considered a failure because I didn't show results, so I returned to my job as caretaker of the large botanic garden."

"So, your power matches your passion?" Bonnie asked as we entered an area where there were more trees. I could even see moss on the walls and asphalt. "Or are they the ones who choose the type of power?"

Azalea glanced at Bonnie. "They just gave me the serum and kept an eye on me for some time. But as I said before, nothing happened to me. My power only activates when there is an attack from the monsters. I hid in the botanic garden in fear, and when I was attacked, suddenly I could grow and control these plants."

"Shouldn't such experiments be illegal?" I chimed in.

The flora girl was silent for a moment. "Yeah, but at that time, the government people seemed so nervous. I've heard whispers that there will be an attack from a monstrous entity. It seems they already know the arrival of those roots of evil."

The special soldier program and the project for making super-powered humans. It seems the government of this country is already very desperate.

"Holy shit." Bonnie hissed as we finally reached the opposite side of the garden. This area was filled with plants that were blackened from the fire.

"They can't grow anymore." Azalea's voice trembled. "It seems the monsters have some kind of substance in flames spewing from their mouths…. So, how is it? Can you guys help us? This is probably the last spot on earth filled with lots of plants. Don't you guys want to keep it?"

Bonnie Gulped. "Well, it's not me who makes the decision, but him. Even though he is a companion drone, he is our leader."

Azalea then came to me. And unexpectedly, she bent her body, showing her cleavage. Her eyes narrowed slightly, her cheeks flushed, and her slightly open mouth let out a sensual sigh. "Help us, oh good lord. I can give you pleasure."

She put her index finger to her lips while her other hand started to grope her own body.

I was really caught off guard. I didn't think that she was the seductress type.

"First, I am a robot. I doubt I can enjoy the 'fun' you mean. Second, I love to help you." I glanced at the burnt marks on the plants again. "But given the damage done, I think we need a large army."

"Don't you have it?" She brought her face closer to mine. Her sighs are getting more and more erotic. "A great robot like you must have a great army, right?"

It took a while before I could answer her. "I hate to inform you, but we only have a fighter and a mechanic in our house. Our group is still very small."

Azalea took a long breath, curling her mouth into a bitter smile. "Can't you ask your allies for help? You must have some connection with the other group, right?"

"Maybe we can ask that colony of apartment residents for help." Bonnie approached us both. "I know it will be difficult. But with your negotiating skills, it may be done, Axel."

"Let me think…." I was silent for a few moments, weighing the pros and cons of all this. "Well, before we head to the colony, allow us to stay here a few days. My friend really wanted to be here."

Azalea breathed a sigh of relief. "Sure. Take your time. I will give the best fruit to you guys."
