Night had fallen, Bonnie was asleep, and I was hovering over Azalea, sitting on a large tree branch. She just kept looking at the expanse of scorched plants.
"It's a shame, really." I started the conversation. "Even though this is the beginning of your mission to make the earth green again, right?"
She glanced at me, giving me a strangely sensual look. Then, she rubbed my metal body. Of course, I couldn't feel the softness and warmth of her hands.
"Would you like to know a secret, darling?" She sighed. "I don't think about that. I love being surrounded by plants. They give sights and smells that soothe my heart. They also can't hurt you like other creatures."
I paused. "Have you been like this before, Azalea? You really like to tease men?"
Slowly, her face began to turn red. She then covered her face.
"I-I've never had a boyfriend. And I'm always nervous around them." she stammered. "And you behaved like a man, I thought to…. To…. Please, forget my words."
So, she chose me to practice approaching men, huh? I found that amusing, even though her teasing way was too much.
I'm pretty flattered she's only ever flirted with me, though.
"But, you are pretty." I landed near her. "You should be able to get a man easily."
"I'm ugly as fuck before getting this form." She took a deep breath.
"I was also hideous before using this form." I'm joking for the sake of reducing her nervousness. "I am a reincarnated person from the past, after all."
Azalea looked at me with her blinking eyes, unable to respond.
"Don't mind his words, Azalea." Bonnie waved her to us from the ground. "He really likes to joke like that…. By the way, you guys are perfect…. I don't know…. Your appearances are totally different, but you guys give off a vibe like a couple."
Azalea looked away and giggled. "R-really?"
Why are you blushing, Azalea? It was obvious Bonnie was joking. We haven't met in a long time either, so what attracted you to me? My smooth metal skin?
Bonnie then flew toward us. "So, maybe it would be better if you join us, Azalea. Our area has no roots of evil, so the possibility of monsters appearing is very low. You can grow your plants with more peace of mind."
Nice, Bonnie. She will be a great addition to us.
"That's…." Azalea raised her hand, then one of the tree branches approached that woman. "I can't leave them…. My children."
"Oh, what a shame." Bonnie shrugged. "Even though I already like you, Az."
"Our place is always open for you," I added. "If you change your mind."
Instead of answering me, she just stood up. "They are coming."
Loud bangs echoed from afar. It didn't take long for me to see a gigantic, yellow tyrannosaurus rex-like monster in the distance.
"What the fuck." Bonnie cursed. "I've never seen one so muscular like that. That monster is a bodybuilder or what?"
"I'm assuming you can't attack the monster from this burning area, Azalea?" I asked in a quick tone.
"Yeah." The pink-haired woman kept concentrating on the monster.
"Get ready, Bonnie," I said to the tiny girl. "We will help fight the monster."
She put on her E.E.S helmet. "Roger that."
That armored girl fired at the monster when it got close enough. Meanwhile, Azalea moved various plant tendrils from deep in the forest to entangle that creature.
The monster let out a deafening roar because its body couldn't move, and Bonnie kept shooting at it.
The tiny girl circled around the monster, intending to shoot it in the eye or part of the leg. But she had trouble because that creature kept wriggling to escape.
"Don't move, you ugly monster!" Bonnie is getting frustrated. Her shots hit the monster, but none struck the target she was aiming at. Even so, that creature seemed unaffected by the bloody wounds on its body.
Azalea then took out tendrils with huge pink flowers at the ends. The flowers immediately bit several parts of the monster's body using their sharp fangs.
"When will it shoot fire, Azalea?" I asked.
"Anytime, now." She gulped.
Right after that, the inside of the monster's mouth filled with something that glowed bright yellow. I ordered Bonnie to flee while Azalea used her tendrils to get her away.
The monster spits out yellow flames, immediately burning part of Azalea's forest. The fire was instantly extinguished, leaving vegetation and buildings scorched. Then, that creature could finally escape from the snares and bite from Azalea's plants as if it had a new strength.
No wonder Azalea wanted to get the help of many individuals. That creature creates tremendous impact and is difficult to deal with.
"How dare you destroy my children!" Azalea screamed with tears in her eyes. "You will pay the price!!!"
She moved the flowered tendrils again, this time in greater numbers.
