Just the two of us

Even with the conditions and consequences, defeating the other was paramount to anything else, rendering even the situation of dying to be irrelevant.

"Let's go..." said Xehnyier, enforcing the air onto his fist with [Lock], making a clink on each finger as Nicole slowly walked to him, around a meter in-between as she gripped her spear-knife.

The two would stare at each other, with the former's feet slowly but surely inching closer and closer toward her not-leg, long silences followed by the rubble destroyed from the background to break the immersive eye-showdown.

For him, it was the remnants of anger long passed away, the hints at his phrases and the desert under his throat lumping to not utter a single word.

For her, the feelings of a creation like her developed a desire for escape. Fleeting, the purpose she wants to find still exists, yet slowly burning in ash. Weakened by the pressure, her knife would slowly drop down, shaking intensively.

Xehnyier would throw a punch but was quickly dodged by Nicole. Following up, she'd launch a kick to throw away his momentum by flicking the arm away, grabbing the knife, and going for a stab at the kicked elbow.

However, the former would unhank the impact, sending her left arm to go knocking back, spinning her.

"That again!"

Before disabling her spear-leg to drop down from the incoming jab, slicing his kneecaps slightly. Delivering an upper cut towards the groin, Greyhair would use his leg to perform a kick similar to crossing one's legs, pushing away at her weapon, and crouching to meet her level to do a downward punch.

Leaping a bit, she'd circle her left wrist to slice the fist, coming down to stab his elbow next. Countering by catching her forearm with his remaining hand, and using the stump to reconnect his severed fist with [Lock], pulling her down to use her momentum and get hit.

Colliding with his fist, she was bumped back and retaliated by extending the spear, which would pierce through his shoulder, but not before suffering punishment by unleashing the air from his right hand, blowing her away.

Grabbing hold of the wooden slab, she recovered by throwing it in between herself and Xehnyier, which he expectantly locked. Nicole would swing on this sideways and slice his forearms, before delivering a flurry of kicks to send him a few feet misused.

Placing a hand behind him to stop from being back to the wall, he pushed back and threw his severed fist, connecting with Nicole's face through [Unlock]. Ricocheting through the locking of recoil, the unlocked fist would be locked again towards his stump, to perform a hammer fist.

Her bladed appendage would then launch- [Displacement]- to extend itself and shorten, avoiding the attack much like a grappling hook to a wall. As this happened, she spun 360 to swirl her knife in the hopes of injuring him midway through her journey.

Away again, she'd pull out the spear from the concrete and make another weapon, bleeding out more blood- slight overuse- and instead throwing it backward to boost her movement and clash fists with him. Sidestepping the first two jabs, a hook from her right side would meet her wire hands attempting to block it, only for a delayed impact due to [Unlock].

Spitting the blood from her injury towards his eyes, she'd guide the two thrown spears together- one from earlier, and the one she threw back just now- all arriving to barbeque him.

"Right now, he's probably going to guard against my last attack with [Lock] and let the spears through..." she thought, with Xehnyier grunting from the sudden distraction.

"So I'll send my spear leg at full force and slice him in half!" embuing it with full force, the spears would indeed be locked and narrowly miss breaking through.

And her leg would successfully slice him.

Except, it wasn't.

"Locked?" were her final words, her brain a little too slow to process the failure- the erroneous mistake she made- as her body grew limp, with the man delivering a hammer on her face, with the spear leg left behind from the impact, and then sending the air to bounce her back to the wall where she stayed.

"You lost," he said, revealing the spear to be lodged in between his stomach- trapped and locked with interchangeable patterns.

"The gamble worked.."

Though this wasn't backed up earlier by his claim, a bet needed to be made given she probably was unknown about it and merely assumed that the "barrier" he would put up was the same "formula".

Instead, the interchanging "equation" or "pattern" would rig this assumption to bits, "...as the lock would essentially be covering itself so that no key would enter or exit. Not unless you tried to use all types of formulas in said attack, then it would've killed me for sure..."

Approaching the supposedly unconscious girl, he lifted her by the shoulder, "I doubt that Doctor would make these things so fragile. Even while like this, she's still technically alive." and moved out of the door, respectfully closing it as the temporal duplicates of the spear would disappear- rhymes.

From outside of the buried entrance, tanks and ships would make themselves known to Greyhair, having either the intention of shooting anything that moves there or meeting to sign an autograph of laser bullets- both of which make no difference whatsoever.

Drawing down a line, Xehnyier would walk into it and be replaced with thin air. Left not a single trace, but the evidence present of something or someone being there.

A tree would be visualized- back at the usual you-know-where- he'd drag the girl's body through.

Black meets White.

"-I told you that parmesan's- Oh!" glanced Naikhee at the newcomer, "You actually... got her..."

"Yeah," replied Grey with a thumbs up, having Sunbright hand over the bit slice of pizza to Mythees- eating it regardless- before drinking some soda.

"So, how was it?" asked Bluehair, with Svan carrying Nicole to Viewpoint.

"Hard. Nearly died." lying down on the black chair, breathing out.

"Cannot agree more..." another bite from Mythees, "She's strong." taking a bit of silence to digest the food.

"But that's Step One all done..." she said.
