A few minutes before the next class started, Anika strolled to Zach's HQ to get Ariana. They had a literature class together.
She met Casey there, and they exchanged pleasantries. "What are you doing here?" Anika asked.
"I have a recess, so I came here to relax before my next class."
"Oh, okay. Well, I came to wake Ariana up; she's taking a nap here. We have literature class together."
"Okay," Casey smiled, keeping a pleasant expression on her face, even though her blood boiled at the mention of Ariana's name.
Anika went straight to the guest room, but she couldn't find Ariana in it, so she went to another and another until she was exhausted. She decided to ask Regina for the particular guest room she showed Ariana to. Before Regina could answer, a scream from Casey echoed through the halls as she came running out of her room.
"Who let Ariana inside my room?" She demanded.
"Ariana is in your room? Thank God, I've been searching for her everywhere," Anika quickly ran to wake up Ariana; they were going to be late for literature class. She woke up Ariana, and Ariana watched her face before leaving Casey's room.
As they descended the stairs, a big commotion was going on, and Casey was throwing a tantrum downstairs.
"You let her in, right? How many times did I have to tell you not to let anyone into my personal space!"
"I'm so sorry, Miss," Regina said with her head bowed.
"You're fired!" Casey thundered.
"Why would you do that? She made a mistake," Anika butted in.
"I made a mistake; I didn't know that room belongs to you. Why would you fire her like that?" Ariana stated.
"Did I ask for your opinion?" Casey glared at Ariana. Anika gaped at her. She didn't know that Casey was like this; she didn't know her brother was dating a person like her. Not only was she rude, but she was also a spoiled brat, and Anika wasn't going to let her talk to her friend like that and get away with it.
"Excuse you? Where are your damn manners?" Anika asked, her expression turned cold, as did her voice. "It was an accident; stop acting like a big baby."
"Did you just call me a baby?" Casey asked with disbelief.
"You heard me right."
Casey ignored Anika and turned to face Regina, who was shivering with fear.
"You're fired, pack your stuff and leave," Casey ordered.
"Don't you dare move, Regina, I'm serious!" Regina swallowed when she saw Anika's icy gaze. She didn't know what to do. Ariana, on the other hand, was astonished yet shocked; Anika looked a lot like Zach, with that dark hair and the same icy gaze. They were truly siblings.
Casey stormed over to Regina and gave her a hard slap on her cheek that sent Regina crashing to the floor. Casey thought that this would make Anika fear her, but to Anika, that was the last straw. She was asking for it.
Anika walked up to Casey and returned the slap that Casey had given Regina, but this one was way worse than the one Regina received. Casey's cheek turned red, and the whole crowd fell silent like a graveyard. Everyone stared at Anika with shock, but Ariana stared at Anika with admiration. It took her a lot of courage before she could slap Casey, but look at Anika—on her first day here, she had already slapped Casey.
"How dare you!"
"How dare you hit Regina. This school doesn't belong to you; just because you're the mayor's daughter and my brother's girlfriend doesn't mean you have the right to fire anybody who works in this building. So what if Ariana took a nap in your room..."
"How dare you slap me? I'm the mayor's daughter!"
"And who helped your father become mayor? I'm warning you, don't you dare try to fire anybody in this building. This isn't your school; my father took his time to select the workers who work here. Don't even think about ruining it," Anika scolded. "Now apologize!"
Casey burst into tears; she hadn't been embarrassed like this in her entire life. She saw the cameras clicking, and at that moment, she wanted the ground to open and swallow her. She saw the evil grin on the students she had bullied before, and it made her blood boil. Her friends stood there watching, and they couldn't defend her; she didn't think that a day like this would come.
She didn't want to apologize, but if she didn't, who knew what this girl might do to her. She didn't know that Zach's little sister was like this, so she had to swallow her pride and apologize.
"I'm sorry, Anika," She faked an apology.
"Not to me. Do I look like I want your damn apology? Apologize to Regina; you hurt her, so apologize,"
Casey turned to look at Regina. There was no way she was going to apologize to this poor girl; she'd rather die than apologize to Regina. Anika sensed Casey's hesitation and pulled her hair. "Apologize!"
Casey felt her scalp ripping, and she had no other choice than to apologize. "I'm sorry, Regina," She apologized, and Anika let go of her hair.
"Next time, don't try this rubbish again. Do you understand me?" Anika asked Casey, and Casey nodded her head before leaving the building with shame.
Ariana had a wide smile on her face; she was very proud that Anika had taught Casey a lesson. What she liked about Anika was her ability to change her expression. As soon as Casey left, her expression changed into a pleasant one, and she helped Regina up.
"Dear, are you okay?" Anika asked.
"I'm fine," Regina tried to smile, but her cheek burned.
"Your cheek is swollen; let me take you to the school nurse," Ariana offered.
"No, I'm fine. Thank you," Regina stated. Anika didn't know that there was a whole crowd watching her. She grabbed Ariana's hand, and they left the building.
