Arrived at New City

['Wraith King' slain.]

[You have cleared the 20th Room]

[Contribution of 100%.]

Despite defeating the Wraith King, Augustus was not done yet. He was still under the King's Rage effect, and there were still enemies lurking nearby.

Despite his wounds and exhaustion, Augustus fought on, taking down the remaining mobs with fiercely.

His life steal and blinding light abilities passively activated, helping to heal his injuries as he battled.

['King's Rage' buff removed].

Finally, the King's Rage dissipated, and Augustus slowly regained consciousness.

'What the hell happened to me?' He lay on the ground, his head throbbing, struggling to remember how he had managed to defeat the Wraith King.

As his injuries worsened, Augustus reached for his health potions. Instead of drinking them, he poured them onto his wounds, taking a gulp of the potion to help dull the pain.

Huffing, 'Are you okay?'" William rushed over to Augustus, concern etched on his face. Gorlak and Squishy were close behind, along with several other party members.

Augustus managed a weak smile. "I'll be fine. Just need a moment."

William smirked. "You really struggled there, didn't you?"

Gorlak, on the other hand, was full of praise. "You did great, Master! Your battle with the Wraith King was truly inspiring!"

Even Squishy, Augustus's faithful companion, chimed in with a cheerful 'Pyu!'

The other members were shy and reluctant but ended up dropping a short compliment . "Thank you."

But Augustus wasn't one for sentimentality. "Enough with the flattery. Let's see what the reward is. You guys go collect the loot," Augustus said, shooing them away.

William nodded, and the party scattered to gather the items of their hard-won battle.

Augustus, exhausted, sat cross-legged on the ground, hugging Squishy close as he inspected the reward.

[Choose Three Rewards]

[1. Enchanted Death Wraith Staff]

[2. Wraith Sovereign Armor]

[3. Wraith Sovereign Gauntlet]

[4. Cloak of Death]

[5. Crown of Death]

Augustus pondered his choices and ultimately decided to pick the Cloak first. After all, he wasn't wearing any back accessories. As for the Armor and Gauntlet, he wanted to upgrade his gear, so he chose them too.

[Cloak of Death]

[Contribution Reward: Skill Book 'Ressurection']

[Contribution Reward: Wraith King Gem]

[Contribution Reward: Wraith King Heart]

As a result of his contribution, Augustus received extra rewards, including a skill book and strange body parts of the boss, along with a gem.

Though the usage of the other items remained a mystery, the gems were larger than the socketed ones. This left Augustus baffled as to why he was receiving the boss's body parts.

The gems were bigger than socketed gems, so he couldn't socket them into a weapon. At the same time, he was confused as to why he was receiving the body parts of the boss.

Augustus didn't even want to take them out of his storage. When he tried to sell them to the store, the system prevented him, declaring them unsellable, including the gems.

[Resurrection]

When the user activates the skill, their body enters the ethereal form, becoming unable to receive damage and protected by a seal. During this time, the user's body is healed, and the surroundings are grasped by an undead aura that prevents enemies from moving from their spot.

After the skill's duration has passed, the user's body is restored to its original form, but with unlimited power for a certain amount of time.

Casting Time: 5 seconds

Duration: 10 seconds

Cooldown: 1 week

Casting Requirement: HP Reached 0%

Augustus learned the skill, but it couldn't be passed down to anyone since the skill book was bound to him.

Even though he could, there was no way Augustus would pass the skill book to someone else as it was a life-saving skill. The only exception would be someone who was truly precious to him, but that was impossible anyway.

"The cooldown is one week, but being able to resurrect is crazy." A skill that I wouldn't have imagined having,

Augustus remembered that the rankers had a variety of life-saving skills up their sleeves, and each one of them was powerful. For Augustus to have one was like an unimaginable dream.

"The pain was worth it," he said to himself as he received the skill.

"Congratulations on absorbing another trait of a king," Gorlak congratulated Augustus as he saw him absorb the skill book.

Augustus was intrigued by Gorlak's response regarding the absorption of another trait of a king. "Can you explain more regarding that?" he asked.

Gorlak explained, "I merely sensed part of the Wraith King being absorbed into Master's body and made speculations based on what I saw."

"You seem quite knowledgeable about kings. Was this knowledge imparted to you when I summoned you, or did you research it yourself?" Augustus was impressed by Gorlak's knowledge which is why he wanted to know more.

"Yes, I did research on the kings, but only for a few years so my knowledge is limited. Goblins have low lifespans, but it seems I have stopped aging after Master summoned me." Gorlak replied respectfully.

Curious, Augustus asked, "How old are you?"

"I'm 68 years old," Gorlak replied respectfully.

"And what's the average lifespan of goblins?" Augustus inquired further.

"It's around 60 years old. I'm fortunate enough to have lived over sixty and was summoned by Master," Gorlak explained.

"I see. Good to know you have stopped aging. I'm glad to have someone as wise as you, despite being just sixty years old."

"Hmm? May I ask how old Master is?" Gorlak was confused by Augustus's remarks, as though he was extremely old.

He whispered to Gorlak, "I'm actually over three hundred years old... well mentally, but I might as well have gone senile on the inside already," fearing that others might hear the conversation.

Augustus praised Gorlak, while noting to himself that despite being over three hundred years old, he was still childish and sometimes stubborn.

"That's quite surprising to hear. Master barely looks twenty in my opinion," Gorlak responded with a shocked expression.

Just then, William approached them, having finished collecting all the items. "Augustus! We've collected all the items! Have you chosen your rewards?" he asked.

"Yeah, carry me to the portal, I'm a bit weak right now," Augustus extended his hand to William, hoping that he could help him.

"Sure," William replied gladly and helped Augustus by carrying him to the portal.

"Let me help too, Master." Gorlak wanted to help.

"Oh yes, I don't think the others would welcome you both in the city. Sorry, I'll have to send you guys back," Augustus said in a low voice as he cast a portal to send them back.

"You have a peculiar summoning skills," William noted as he saw them being sent back to their original place.

"It's only been a short while since I met them, but I already find myself quite attached to them," Augustus thought to himself. He felt sorry for sending them back, as he would have liked to keep them with him. However, he preferred to avoid any trouble and unwanted attention.

As they stepped out of the portal, Augustus found himself in a slightly different location. He scanned the surroundings and quickly realized that he was in a different city. The fort protecting the dungeon was much stricter and larger, with a bunch of guards patrolling the area.

"S-Sir William is back!" One of the guards exclaimed gleefully, catching sight of William and the familiar faces of the raid party emerging from the dungeon.

"The raid party has returned!"

"They have succeeded in the dungeon raid!"

All of them cheered as they saw William, but their attention was quickly diverted to Augustus, the unfamiliar face among them. The guards began to question his identity.

"Is he a slave?" one of them asked, scrutinizing Augustus with suspicion.

"What slave? He's our benefactor," William scolded the guard, stepping forward to defend Augustus. "He's exhausted right now, and I'm escorting him so he can receive the best treatment."

Augustus smirked at William's defense, feeling pleased that he had stood up for him.

"I know I was being rude previously; I apologize for that." William actually apologized as he know he's in the wrong especially what his party members did to Augustus.

"We used to respect Irregulars," William explained. "For example, the First Irregular, the legendary hero. Other than that, we have Sir Ronan, Sir Cedric, and a few other respected Irregulars, but there aren't many."

"See? Not all Irregulars are shitty," Augustus said, feeling happy to know that there were Irregulars who helped Exonians.

"Well, not entirely, but most of them are," William retorted, describing them as lowlifes. "Believe me, the history records a lot of them, and most of them are causing destruction everywhere. Especially the slaves. It has been there in Exonia for centuries, even though people are against it, but there's nothing we can do."

Augustus didn't respond, not knowing what to say. He couldn't promise to change things, so he remained silent.

Soon, William led Augustus to a nice-looking room that was much better than the inn he had stayed in before. "Rest here. It's my room, but you can use it for resting. I'll send someone to take care of you," William said, having matters to attend to, especially regarding the item loots they had obtained.

"Sure. I'm just going to rest here for a while," Augustus replied, relieved to finally be able to relax.

Since he was in a different city, Augustus contemplated whether to summon Vera and Arielle over. He wasn't sure how far he was from Eldrida from where he was staying.
