Chapter 14 Part I

Nearly a month had passed. After all of the paperwork had been handled for Sakunthara and the children, they only had to wait for the embassy to issue visas for the four of them. There was one addition in the form of a special nurse who would assist the young woman in taking care of the children while abroad.

During that time, Pongket made himself a veritable dog in the manger to the mother of the newborns, scaring off any other dogs that hung around. Dr. Thananont came over every day after he finished up his night shift. He often brought foods that were good for one’s health and helped nourish breast milk for the young woman each morning.

Upon seeing the person who received him, along with everyone in the house, smiling brightly, Pongket fell into a foul mood. Throughout the time that they had known each other, they had often been compared. Almost everyone was won over by Dr. Thananont’s goodness and gentleness.
