Chapter 22 Part II

“You want to see the children’s faces that much?” the young man asked.

“They were with me for a year. We were together, talked together every day. We have never been apart for this long,” the young woman answered evasively so he would understand her feelings more, rather than giving him a straight answer.

“Can you just see their faces from the door?” the young man proposed. The young woman quickly nodded in agreement. Her smile gradually widened until her dimpled cheeks could clearly be seen. Her eyes held glimmers of happiness. Her smile made the other person smile along as well.

The young man got up from the chair and took the young woman by the hand to the children’s room. Everyone was still sound asleep. The young woman turned back to look at the young man’s face questioningly when she saw Michelle sleeping in the room, too.
