Chapter 24 Part I

It was nearly noon and there was still no sign that the house owner would walk out of his bedroom. Sakunthara went into the children’s room. Both smiled brightly when they saw their mother’s face.

Michelle walked into the room after she finished cleaning the house. The children’s room became a gathering place for everyone when they were free from their other duties.

“The boss hasn’t woken up yet?” Michelle blurted out, more as if she was informing her young female employer.

“Maybe he’s ill, Thara,” Primpao turned to add.

“I don’t know,” the young woman answered indifferently because she was still giving more of her attention to the children lying in front of her.

“I think it’d be a good idea for you to go take a look, Thara,” Primpao said.

Neither Primpao nor Michelle knew the ins and outs between the two of them, nor of their agreement. They knew that Sakunthara was another of their employers, even though the young woman acted friendly and was on intimate terms with everyone.
