“Mr. Pong…there is a phone call coming in.”


“Is it Korawee?... Could you pick it up for me and tell her that I’m ready?” he called back from the bathroom.


“All right,” the young woman replied before answering his telephone. She walked a slight distance away.


“Vivi, this is Thara. Mr. Pong is in the bathroom. He told me to let you know that he is ready.”


“Thara? Okay then. I’ll be there in a bit. Did the director have a fever last night?” She did not forget to ask about her boss’s condition.


“He had a high fever. I had to force him constantly to take medication. I ask that you please take care of him, Vivi, because if no one forces him, he probably won’t take medication.”


“I’m not accompanying him, though. I have to see to the convenience of the entourage that is returning to Thailand.”
