staring at her reflection with a rather keen look on her youthful face. Blaire couldn't help but nod in satisfaction at how good she looked in her newly issued school uniform.
Sporting white and blue colors, the sailor like attire she now wore was quite a refreshing sight on Blaire's budding appearance that was like a lily, innocent and pure which frankly is something Blaire wasn't beneath all her current glamour.
Add the rather charming blue berret her current ensemble was pretty much top tier paired with her already stunning self.
Normally Blaire wouldn't have fussed over her appearance so much because to the previous her that would have been nothing more than a colossal waste of time. To a mercenary of her caliber, her own vanity matters naught since bullets whether from an ally or foe would't discriminate just because she was beautiful, she learnt that the hard way when she was still learning the ropes back when she was just an insignificant rookie.
Blaire's new found appreciation to such a trivial thing was caused by her latest assimilation. it did not only extend to the near perfect replication of the naive girl's ability and talents unlike the pseudo copies she had made in the beginning but also the girl's will as a person while she was alive.
because of how extensive the effect that part of her metahuman ability is, the more pragmatic and sinister aspects of her character had been somewhat overidden by the girl's more kinder and agreeable personality...well until Blaire manages to fully synchronized with her latest victim, only then will she be free from sequelae left by her after assimilation.
feeling these foreign feelings and emotions that she had long since forgotten due to her life as a mercenary and irredeemable Monster. it made her somewhat melancholic yet oddly thankful as well as the current Blaire could certainly make use of these newly found understanding in posing as an actual teenager.
blending in would be so much easier, now that blaire could somewhat sympathize with her fellow students. it will also add another depth to her deception that would make it no less genuine if she ever found her false identity under scrutiny.
"but all of that could wait. I still need to make a good impression on my first day. maybe chat up a storm to the first classmate I-" she cut herself off as she suddenly glared at her mirror.
"Why are you such a happy go lucky person? you could have been an ice queen who didn't care about anyone else and I wouldn't have been so heavily affected by your enthusiasm...Even now I feel so excited on making my first "friend" that my heart is ready to leapt out of my chest hahahaha." blaire cackled at her own reflection that had a mischievous expression plastered all over its face, all the while her rich, amber colored eyes twinkled with a childlike glee beneath the artificial lighting of her room.
Something quite new to her who only found her highs when she was fighting.
Grabbing her brown leather satchel on her bed that had everything she needed for her first day, Blaire did a last minute once over as she made sure that everything down to the smallest crease of her Uniform was in order. the last thing she wanted was that she was unknowingly exposing herself due to how short the issued skirt was.
'whoever decided to have the girls wear this scandalous skirts.... fuck em. perverted bastard pricks the lot of em...'
fussing every step of the way as she left the female dorm building. Blaire made her way to her assigned classroom in the massive dome shaped building at the center of the campus, greeting anyone she managed to pass by, knowing that all her actions would eventually snowball into something more substantial, adding more layers of protection to her new identity if she wanted to safely get started with her actual plans for this place.
making some friends would help her in the long run.
"fufufufu. time get myself some useful pawns..." an evil thought leaked out from the childlike, innocent mask she had long since adopted prior to her enrollement whenever she was in public.
no matter how much her original persona was dulled currently by the original blaire...
Her true nature couldn't be so easily eroded by one naive girl whose just hungry for an actual life.
Bella who is emulating Blaire...
A malevolent dragon who is simply pretending to sleep amongst foolish sheep...
waiting for a foolish one to spring her trap...
I wonder what kind of chaos would this "Blaire" unleash upon this institute.
Because a true predator no matter how patient they are would eventually pounce if the chance presence itself...
only time would tell if it would happen sooner rather than later.
~~~
Valkyries. maidens of war that were specifically bred.
designer humans artificially modified to be the top genome of choice for female super soldiers.
gestating one, even a fairly low rank one would have costed a small fortune to raise, enough to fund a small company for a year with their initial value alone.
"...and to think one would join our class... has the institute gone mental!?..." An ashen grey haired boy exclaimed in a fairly supressed, irritated voice from his seat just enough for his friend beside him to hear him, his ruby red eyes were practically incandescent at what he recently came to know.
Seeing the smoldering expression of that Chihuahua like existence next to him. Damien, a regal looking youth with long golden hair and baby blue eyes, couldn't help but shake his head at his short statured friend.
"Yes its true that a valkyrie was admitted into our class and for gods sake Aaron don't let the instructors hear you speaking ill about the school or you'll be marked for severe disciplinary action later." he chided hoping the bastard would keep his prejudice tucked in where it should.
"Anyways I've even seen her in action last week during the exhibition tryouts. That green haired girl was frighteningly skilled with that summoned sword of hers, Raph was pretty much bullied all throughout their match and couldn't even put up a proper fight." Damien continued speaking, holding a rather keen interest on the mysterious girl, mainly due to the fact that her ability that seemed a little too different from what he studied and knew so far about Valkyries.
'is she a high tier one? or is she a new type. thats undergoing testing?...'
in a dour mood the boy named Aaron couldn't help but glare at his seat mate, noticing the unhealthy amount of interest the former had on the "doll" that would soon be a part of their class.
noticing his scathing gaze, Damien faked a cough and quickly corrected himself knowing about his friend's past.
"I-I am just surprised a Valkyrie of her caliber was even allowed to go here much less become a symbol who upholds justice, they usually undergo accelerated aging until they reached physical maturity and become high rank bodyguards or private soldiers for the the truly wealthy." Damien tried to deflect.
Snorting more to ease his rising annoyance. the Ashen haired boy simply crossed his arms and simply look forward, refusing to meet the eyes of the other boy and feeling partially like shit because his temper flared and he lashed out at him.
roughly scratching his head.
"argh. Who really knows what those corporate eggheads are really thinking. a tests of some sort? who cares really?..." he grumbled in a more subdued tone.
"please be nice. I know you don't like them as much as the next guy but having hostile thoughts on a fellow student despite being a doll as you would put it is just asking for trouble." Damien sighed as he couldn't help but brush a strand of blonde hair that fell on his face.
"Tsk stupid privileged scum." he venomouly spat out but to Damien's ear the short tempered boy would at least follow his lead and "try" to follow his words, beyond that and it will be anything goes.
What can Damien say? he understood quite well how the Volatile Chihuahua thought. they grew up from the same place after all.
"I am gonna tack it in one more time just to be sure...play nice alright? we got bigger fish to fry now more than ever. You going ballistic might really lower our chances." damien gave the ashen boy a hard stare driving home that he really meant it this time, causing the former to flinch and sheepishly nod at him.
"alright already... you don't need to keep reminding me..." he replied in a defeated tone.
"I am only watching out for you."
"And should I be happy about that you bastard!?"
"Nope. you don't need to." Damien smirked much to the other boy's chagrin.
This back and forth banter continued until things started to devolve in a situation where a physical altercation may happen at anytime, meanwhile a certain Bespectacled girl with indigo black hair and argent green eyes hidden behind her lens was watching them with a fed up expression on her somewhat doll like face.
Rani tried her best to resist her urge to simply walk to them and claw out their faces from how much second hand embarassment she's currently dying from right now.
If only she hadn't decided to enroll at the same time with those two stooges she would have an easier time pretending that she didn't know them and could ignore them outright during their tenure as students but thats simply her wishful thinking...
She's stuck with those two idiots whether she wanted to or not.
Normally it would have been quite hard for someone like her to spot the two dolts from where she was sitting at the last row at the back but due to the current lack of students in the classroom at the moment and the two idiot's rather unique hair colors, rani had easier time spotting them.
the institute's lecture hall for the elite class followed the usual amphitheatre style of architecture that could easily housed up to a 100 people but as far as Rani could see, the classroom wouldn't have any other students until much later.
'how could they be so casual...' she thought with disdain as she opened her textbook and began studiously reading its contents, hoping to dull the background noise the two were causing from distracting her from brushing up on the curriculum of the Academy.
'Sometimes I really wish I didn't have enhanced hearing...'
Rani gradually tuned them out as the words written in her book gradually become alive in her perspective a byproduct of her ability which also helped her absorb knowledge from any book or tome she read.
Rani was practically the brains of their group and she always made sure her friends remember it.
'An egghead in the making' If you were to ask The chichuchua his opinion about his other childhood friend.
Damien would say the same but in a less crass and polite manner.
The three of them never really knew when they became friends. It just simply happened one day. Despite their differences they really meshed quite well.
Living their lives and growing up together in the same district and fighting to survive only a daily basis, they shared a seemingly unbreakable bond forged from their mutual trust and understanding with each other.
Feeling a small pull from within her causing her trance like state to shatter, Rani groaned as she glanced at her two childhood friend who were on the verge of settling their petty bickering with their fists.
Rani couldn't help but growl as she reached for her noise cancelling headphones resting on her desk and put them on as she stood up and made her way towards the two, intending to teach them a lesson they will soon likely forgot evident on how many times she had to intervene.
Cracking her fist and a small albeit malevolent smile filled with promises of pain...
"Why can't you two just stop embarassing me all the time?"
Unbenounced to the passionate trio, a curious looking head of jade green hair and twinkling amber colored eyes watched them all the way from the open entrance of the classroom.
finding their rather close interaction quite... interesting.~
