General ward

Zhang Xin's words couldn't be any clearer.

That low-key and amiable director has a close relationship with his own secret technique.

Upon hearing this, I couldn't help but think of something and asked Zhang Xin: "When the director was bitten by a wild dog, what was he doing out on inspection? Who else was with him at the time?"

Hearing this, Zhang Xin became somewhat embarrassed and hesitated for a long time before saying to us: "It is said that they were inspecting some newly constructed civil defense projects in the suburbs at the time, and only Secret Technique Wang Xiren accompanied him."

"Ahem, it's clearly an affair between two people going out to have sex in the wilderness. To say it's an inspection is simply laughable!" Xie Yilin muttered when she heard this. This made Zhang Xin even more ashamed. He then said with a wry smile: "Uh...little brother, if you can help me out here please do so. Can we not discuss these irrelevant matters first? You know I'm just a small person who can't speak recklessly about many things; if it gets spread around, my life might be over forever! So please consider helping me out here. Don't worry though; if we really manage to pull this off, I won't treat you unfairly."

As Zhang Xin spoke, he took out his bulging wallet as if he wanted to pay us but after taking out several bills he suddenly realized something and hurriedly stuffed them back into his pocket before looking at us again: "By the way...after talking for so long I still don't know whether or not you guys are capable of doing this job...can you demonstrate your abilities right now?"

"Heh-heh...just wait for a moment," I chuckled dryly without answering Zhang Xin's question directly while turning my head to look at Jietou and Xie Yilin. "This guy is quite troublesome; what do you guys think we should do? Help him or not?"

"You're the one who makes the decisions here. I'll just follow along," Jietou said before closing his eyes again to rest.

Xie Yilin frowned and thought for a moment before whispering to me: "I think we can lend a hand in this matter."

"Why?" I asked curiously.

"First of all, this kid is generous with his money. If we really help him out, we can at least earn some extra cash while we have nothing else to do right now. People must never go against money; that's asking for trouble, you know?" Xie Yilin explained.

"I won't go against money either but if I want to make some cash, there are other ways too...just tell me your other reasons," I told her.

You sound like you're rich," Xie Yilin sneered, then looked at me and said, "Didn't you hear what he said? He's from the Civil Defense Bureau. What does the Civil Defense Bureau do? They manage civil defense projects such as air-raid shelters and emergency evacuation centers. These are all under their jurisdiction. Think about it, since they do this kind of work, they must have a large engineering team with people, machines, tools and most importantly explosives. Isn't that exactly what we need?"

"But didn't Master Chi go to Hangzhou to move troops?" I frowned.

"You fool! Are you so sure he can succeed? What if he fails? We need to be prepared just in case. If we can use it, great; if not, there is no loss," Xie Yilin said to me.

"Not bad! You really are my teacher," I smiled slightly and understood completely in my heart. I couldn't help but look up at Zhang Xin and ask: "How do you want me to demonstrate it for you?"

"Uh...you just mentioned that the dog following our director was a ghost dog? I want to know what this ghost dog is and how you plan on dealing with it," Zhang Xin asked.

Hearing Zhang Xin's words, I couldn't help but smile slightly knowing that this guy was trying to trick me into revealing how to deal with the ghost dog so that he could handle things himself without our help later on.

I'm not that stupid so I just smiled and said: "Dealing with a ghost dog is simple but for now I can't tell you yet. Let me show you something else."

As I spoke, furrowing my brows for a moment before staring at the teacup in front of Zhang Xin which caused spiritual energy burst out instantly wrapping around a ball of tea water suspended in mid-air.

"Ah? This, this--"

Seeing this, Zhang Xin was shocked and subconsciously moved back causing the banknotes to scatter all over the floor.

Seeing Zhang Xin's reaction, I smiled slightly and reached out to take the water ball. Then with a snap of my fingers, it flew sideways with a "whoosh" sound and smashed against the wall with a loud bang.

"After seeing this demonstration, you should believe me now," I smiled at Zhang Xin and asked.

"I believe you! You guys are really amazing. Our director is saved for sure." As he spoke, Zhang Xin hurriedly picked up the scattered banknotes from the ground before taking out another stack from his wallet which he placed in front of me respectfully saying: "Um...Master, this is some deposit money as a sign of respect. Please help me.

"No problem," I smiled and glanced at Xie Yilin, saying, "Beauty, collect the money."

Xie Yilin smiled and took the money. While nodding her head, she said to me: "Tsk tsk, Liu YiHeng, you're really good at making money so easily. After thinking about it for a while, I think you are a super potential stock. How about I follow you in the future and freeload off of you? What do you think?"

"Of course it's okay as long as you listen to me a little bit more and provide good service. What's not okay?" I smirked at her.

"You bastard! Look at yourself! You just got some power and now act like this? You're itching for trouble again aren't you?!" Xie Yilin glared at me with an angry voice.

"Heheheh...just trying to liven up the atmosphere." I continued being cheeky.

After a moment on Mo Du Mountain we got into a new car together and headed towards downtown Deqing City.

Half an hour later we arrived outside of the city hospital in downtown where Director Jiang had been staying recently. His leg was rotten down to his bones despite taking many medicines or even undergoing several surgeries which were all ineffective. The doctors couldn't find any specific cause except that it was some rare disease which meant he could only wait for death peacefully." Zhang Xin led us into the hospital while explaining everything along the way.

We walked into the main building of the hospital then directly took an elevator up to top floor before entering into one spacious bright room with complete facilities inside - this was Director Jiang's ward.

When we entered that ward back then, my heart couldn't help but sigh deeply after scanning around with my eyes because being high-ranking officials is really different; even their hospital rooms are so large that they have small living rooms outside with separate bathrooms and toilets. It was completely like a hotel's configuration, not at all like a hospital ward. They were basically on vacation using public funds.
