Chapter 5 Belittle Lives

Julian grabbed a chair and sat down beside Janette with a smile. He said, "If I say that as a doctor, I can't stand him belittling lives, do you believe it?"

Janette's eyebrows and eyes were full of disdain and coldness. She said without expression or emotion --

"I don't believe it."

At this time, Julian was playing a signature pen, which shuttled back and forth between his fingers, lightly and flexibly. He looked like a cynical yuppie, making Janette feel weird, because the image of a gentle doctor had gone from him for a long time.

Janette didn't speak any more. She looked at Julian quietly, like piercing his heart with her sharp eyes. However, unfortunately, Julian's mind was like a black hole that she couldn’t find anything.

After a while, Janette said, "I want to listen to the truth."

Julian said slightly, "I’m just revenging Shane Graham." But it was like they were talking about someone they didn’t know.

"Why?" Janette was a little shocked.

"My elder brother, Xavier Yale, has been committed suicide in depression because of Shane's merger case!" Julian looked at Janette's puzzled eyes and said with a sneer, "If you don't believe it, you can search it online. The case and my elder brother's suicide have been on hot search list in those years. Even if Shane uses his relationship to suppress the news, there are still some clues last. "

The hatred in Julian's eyes was too real. At this time, Janette believed him even if she didn't check the news of that year.

"But you're just a doctor. How can you get me out under Shane's nose?" Janette asked.

"You don't have to worry about that. I have my own plan." Julian said.

Janette didn't say anything more. She didn’t know why, but she found Julian was worth of her trust.

"Fine." Janette said and turned to look out of the window.

After all, Shane wanted her die, which was her worst ending. what else couldn’t she try?

The next day.

Because this private hospital was funded by the Graham’s family, as long as Shane nodded, the hospital would arrange the operation as soon as possible. Each of the two beds had a woman lying on it. One was Shane's wife, the other was his lover. However, at this time, Shane bent down, grasped Ann's hand tightly, and bent over to comfort her in a soft voice.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here, I'll wait for you!"

Even a few simple words, he didn’t want to say to her.

Janette couldn’t help but keep her eyes moist. She looked at the two people who were affectionate, as if she was transparent from beginning to end. If it was not for the same blood type, she...

Janette didn't want to think about it any more.

Julian was ready in the operating room at this time. Naturally, a nurse came out to meet them. Shane watched the two women entering the operating room before and after.

"Clean the skin and prepare the negative plate." Julian only revealed his keen eyes under the surgical clothes.

The assistant doctors and nurses in the side while preparing to assist, and listen to Julian's instructions, step by step.

Time passed until the computer pneumatic tourniquet gave an alarm.

"Dr. Yale, there are ten minutes left." The assistant doctor reminded him.

"I see." Julian's voice was not big, but it could make people feel at ease.

"Tick... " Finally, the stitching was done, the alarm sounded again, and everyone breathed out. Almost, only a little, something was going to happen. If something happened to these two people on the operating table, all the people on the scene would be punished.

However, when everyone was happy, all of a sudden, the room was dark.

With the darkness, all the instruments stopped working.

"Check it out quickly!" Julian sternly ordered.

One minute later, the operating room was lightened again. But because all the machines had to restart, they missed the best time of curing the patients, which put both Ann and Janette in danger.

Julian personally took the operation sheet out of the operating room.

Shane looked at Julian in surprise. Why did the doctor come out before the operation was finished?

"Mr. Graham, I’m very sorry, but I must tell you that we have expreienced an accident of electricity failure just now. Now both of our patients lying on the operating table are in critical condition. With our ability, only one person can be guaranteed to be safe. Here is the notice of critical illness. Please sign it." Julian was telling the truth -- neither humble nor arrogant.

"I choose Ann." Shane said without hesitation.

"Then your wife, may be..." Before Julian finished, Shane said, "as I say, no matter how expensive the cost will be, I choose Ann."

The last word "Ann" was loud and clear.

There was a sense of smile flashing in Julian's eyes, but for a moment, Shane didn't find it.

Julian turned in with the signed order.

Then there was a long waiting. For Shane outside the operating room, every minute, or every second was extremely painful.

Finally, a few hours later, Julian came out again, and his voice was calm.

"Miss Ann is out of danger, but I'm sorry to tell you that your wife's rescue has failed... She has passed away!" Julian said.

Even though he was prepared, when Shane heard that Janette was dead, he could not help shivering. It seemed that he did not have the joy of "finally getting rid of her", which was an unprecedented feeling.

Shane was stunned.

"I want to see her for the last time." Shane said.

"Well, OK. Miss Ann has been sent to the ICU ward. You can come in with me now." Julian said.

The staff in the operating room were doing the finishing work. Janette was lying there, being pale. With her eyes closed, the last tear of her life were still hung at the corner of her eyes. Shane felt that he had not seen her so carefully for a long time.

Without breathing, Janette was very quiet. She was a beautiful woman who could survive the captious look. But at this time, she was lying at here, dead, silently.

Who could be blamed?

Shane murmured to himself in front of the corpse, as if those words were for his own ears.

"Janette, in another life, don't fall in love with me... Or don't be the daughter of the Swan’s family."
