Grimalkin's Help - VII - [PT.12]

The Dragon suddenly started getting smaller and smaller, until it was only but a very robust type of man. He had a long red bear, square jaw, diamond eyes, and wavy red hair. He reminded me of Alexander the Great. He was muscular and strong, I would say even more than Dragan. He had left his Dragon body behind and became this man just in the blink of an eye.

He wore sandals and half a cape with body armor and a skit that went all the way down to his feet.

He looked majestic in this light.

He came towards us. When he was in earshot.

"Dad, so you've come," said Dragan. "It's nice to see you,"

He ignored Dragan and suddenly spoke.

"You're not gonna introduce me, to your little one,"

There it was again, that phrase everyone threw willy nilly, but now it was coming from Dragan's dad, as a nickname, I didn't mind, but I had associated it with Dragan and me, as our own special thing.

I decided in that moment, I had, had enough!

"Uh - Sir - Dragan dad sir, could you not call me that, it's a Dragan an I kinda thing,"

"Well, why not?!" he suddenly seemed despondent.

"Uh - Uh - Uh," said Dragan trying to calm both of us down. It wasn't working.

"Is your intent with all of this doing of the Sun God, not meant as a gift to be wed to my son, little one,"

I suddenly got red as a peach.

"Wedding!?" I exclaimed.

"Dad-" said Dragan dragging his words.

"Ah - My apologies," said Dragan's dad. "I suppose you were not made aware of our customs, hmm?" he said with a boast type of attitude. A hearty laugh later he continued. "Dragonkin use little one as a form of verbal nay say of the person we wish to cour in a romantic appeal,

I'm sure Dragan must have told you, it's only common courtesy to those not part of the Dragonkin kind, it's put a mere old tradition,"

"No - he did not," I said scoffing at Dragan.

"When he said it was probably trying to give us approval," said Dragan holding his hand to his face, also red as a plum.

"I - mean - maybe someday," I said shyly scratching my head with my tiny slime arms.

"Ah - more the joyous occasion then!" he said, he seemed like a nice guy, full of pride and ego, simple-minded and painfully naive. With a warrior's soul within. "I tracked Dragan sent, after walking outside my man-cave, and realizing the sun was dropping mana particles, it was like this a long time ago when my great-great-grandfather lived," said Dragan's dad.

"Dragonkin usually live like 300 years or something," said Dragan keeping me up to speed.

"I've only heard it in legend, once Cronus was blessed with mana by the sun and moon, and you'll have to forgive my shock as I realized someone must have placed the Sun God back where it belonged, and I'm guessing I have you to thank for that -" he said point towards me.

"Yeah it was us," I said. He laughed loudly again.

What's up with this guy?

Beats me…

"I can see you and I will get along well, little one," said Dragan's dad. "Ah~! I have yet to introduce myself, where are my manners, my name is Scandar Shu Neven, it's nice to meet you, little one," he said

"Nice to meet you too sir," I said bowing my head.

Scandar gave a nice big warm smile full of pride and joy.

"Now shall we get back down the mountain, hopefully the Grimalkin can spare one more bed and meal," he said inviting himself in, and putting his arms around Dragan, as a father would, Dragan was almost unsure what to do with this physical touch. I squeezed myself on his shoulder.
