CHLOE’s POV
I yawned when I noticed that my phone had been lighting up for a while, so I picked it up and checked who had been texting me. But my eyes widened when I noticed that it wasn’t a message I had read, but a picture.
“What the f-ck?!” I shouted and dropped my phone when I saw a picture of Mateo kissing a girl. I couldn’t recognize the person he was with because her face was blurred.
Mateo hasn’t been coming home because he’s been flirting with other women. I’m angry and try to call him, but he doesn’t answer. The maid informs me that Mateo has arrived, and I clench my fist before opening the door.
I just called the helper to meet Mateo, but I was surprised to see that his whole body was covered in mud. What happened to him? Did they engage in sexual activity in the mud?
“Mateo!” I shouted and approached him, but he just pushed me away and angrily went upstairs, so I followed him. “Mateo! Where did you come from?!” I asked. He glared at me, so I stepped back.
“You don’t care!” he shouted. My eyes widened and I approached him again.
“I’m your wife! That’s why I care!” I shouted angrily. What’s wrong with him? And why does he look so dirty?
“On paper, Chloe! You’re only my wife on paper! Get out of my sight!” he shouted angrily. He glared at me again, and went into the bathroom, so I laughed and ran my fingers through my hair.
He has been like that ever since he found out about Ana! Furthermore, he hardly comes home now, and he gets drunk every night! And it seems like there’s a different woman every night too! Damn!
When he came out of the bathroom, I was surprised to see him packing up his things, so I hurriedly approached him to take back his clothes from his suitcase.
“Where are you going?!” I asked in a panic as we struggled over his clothes. He stopped and forcefully took back the clothes I was holding.
“Far from you! Are you always going to keep talking? Ana wasn’t like that when we were married!” he angrily retorted as he continued to pack his things. I was taken aback when he mentioned her name again.
It’s always like this, always about Ana. I’m so tired of that name. There’s never a time when he doesn’t mention Ana’s name. I took a deep breath as I clenched my fists.
“Ana again, Mateo?” I asked with a laugh, catching his attention and making him mad. “Ana is entirely different now, Mateo. She’s not your wife anymore,” I said. He smirked at me, causing me to pause. It looks like I won’t like whatever is on his mind.
He approached me and brought his lips close to my ear, causing goosebumps to rise on my neck. “For now, Chloe,” he whispered, and I felt his tongue in my ear. “I will get her back because she is mine.” I shivered as he licked my ear and then pulled away slightly. I was stunned as I looked at him because it didn’t seem like Mateo was in front of me.
I clenched my fist and pulled him closer. “I-Is Ana still the one for you, Mateo? W-what about me, huh?!? What about me?!?” I cried out to him, and he turned to look at me.
“A piece of trash in my life.”
I was stunned by his last words to me and just sat down on the bed while tightly holding my phone.
Ana has been gone for a long time, but she's still the one. Damn it! This is her fault! Why did she have to live? She should be dead by now!
I wiped away my tears forcefully and left the hacienda to distract myself. I won’t allow Mateo to have Ana. Furthermore, I’m the only one who is entitled to Mateo! Only me!
When I arrived at the club, I immediately sat at the counter. “One beer!” I said while looking down, afraid that someone might recognize me and report me to Mama Caridad and Papa Levy. I was given a drink, so I quickly drank it without even looking at who gave it to me.
“Damn you, Ana! You’re still a hindrance to me!” I angrily muttered to myself as I drank the beer. I heard laughter, so I irritably lifted my head, but I was stopped when I saw who was in front of me.
“Why didn’t you accept it?” she asked with a smirk, leaning on the counter. I slowly clenched my fist and noticed that my hands were shaking.
“A-Ana…” I whispered. She grinned and handed me a glass of alcohol. I just stared at the glass, but didn’t drink it because it might be poisoned.
“It’s not poisoned, so don’t worry,” she said. I glared at her and ignored what she was saying.
“You’re already dead, aren't you? You shouldn’t have been alive.” I said as I took the glass and poured the alcohol on her. “You’re still a hindrance to all my plans,” I whispered as I stood up to leave because it would only cause chaos if we were in the same place. But I was stopped by what she said.
“Tsk. Chloe, why can’t you accept that I’m still alive?” she asked. My hand trembled as I clenched my fist again. “We’re best friends forever, right? Why aren’t you happy to know that I’m alive?” I looked back at her and furrowed my brow when I noticed that her expression had changed. “Ah, because that was your plan all along, to get rid of me and do what you wanted with Mateo, right? Am I right, best… friend?”
My eyes widened when I noticed that her smile was different, so I took a step back. “Wh-what—” I didn’t finish what I was going to say when she suddenly approached me, causing me to step back even further.
“Chloe, I know you had something to do with what happened to me before… Luckily, I haven’t killed you yet.” she said with a smirk. My eyes widened, and I stepped back again because I felt something strange about her.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!" I shouted and took a step back.
She laughed.
“I haven’t done anything yet, but it seems like you need to pee.” she grinned and pointed behind me, so I turned around, and my eyes widened even more when I saw a large mirror in front of me.
“W-what… is happening?” I asked and took a step back but bumped into another mirror. I straightened up as a sudden image appeared in the mirror, and my eyes widened even more when I noticed what I was seeing.
The night Ana had an accident, 5 years ago…
“N-no…” I whispered and took a step back, but I held on to my ear when I heard strange sounds. “Damn, stop it!” I covered my ears and felt a thick liquid coming out of my ear, but the sounds didn’t stop.
The sound of cars, screams, and laughter. And the sound of an explosion.
“Ahh!” I cried in pain as the sounds grew louder. “N-no, please… stop it!”
“Everything is not yet over, Chloe. I am just getting started.”
I opened my eyes when I heard that and noticed that there were people looking at me, so I looked around and remembered that I was in a club. F–ck. I held my head because I felt like it was just the alcohol causing me to hear all sorts of things.
I left the club and got into my car and leaned back. Furthermore, I noticed in the rearview mirror that there was blood on my ear, so I quickly grabbed a tissue and wiped my ear.
“Damn,” I muttered as I hurried the car back to the hacienda.
I still need to convince Mateo because he and Ana cannot get back together, and I cannot let myself be defeated by someone like her. I will not allow Ana to interfere with my plans.
ANA’s POV
I couldn’t help but smirk when I saw Chloe acting like a crazy person, so I left the club and paid the manager to let me pretend to be a bartender.
I knew Chloe would only go to the club because I heard that she and Mateo had another fight. TSK. Pathetic. I walked back to the employee’s room and changed my clothes before getting into my car.
“Did you put something in her drink?” Paris asked as soon as I got into the car. I raised my eyebrows and grinned. “Oh, shit, really? She’s acting crazy! People are already laughing at her, but she still doesn’t seem to feel anything!” Paris said with a laugh. “That’s the reaction from Chloe that I’ve been waiting for.”
I laughed and covered my mouth, then looked out the window to see Chloe come out of the club.
“I put some powder in her beer earlier to make her hallucinate. It seems like she remembered the sins she committed,” I said firmly, clenching my fist.
I noticed Chloe leaving the club and getting into her car. I followed her car as it sped off.
“What are you going to do next?” Paris asked.
I blinked and looked at Paris. “I’m going to bring down the Villalobos business,” I said, and I instructed Alexis to go back to the mansion.
We arrived at the mansion in just a few minutes, but Alexis stopped the car, so I was puzzled by his actions.
“Mateo is here,” Paris said, and I followed her gaze, raising my eyebrows when I saw Mateo in front of the mansion. It looks like he is waiting for me.
I grinned and raised my hand. “Let me,” I said, and I got out of the car. Paris called out to me, but I didn’t look back at her. I approached Mateo, who was surprised by my arrival.
“A-Ana…”
I winced when I smelled him because it looked like he hadn’t showered. I took a step back when I noticed that there was still mud on his pants.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. He staggered towards me, but I avoided him. “Leave this place,” I said, but he just shook his head.
“A-Ana, I’ll leave Chloe, just come back to me, you know how much I love you, right?”
I furrowed my brow at what he was saying. Does he really think that after everything he did to me, I still have the desire to go back to him? No, never. I will not be foolish again just for him.
I clenched my fist and grabbed my phone, dialing a number.
(“Who is this?!”)
I grinned when he answered my call. I looked back at Mateo. “What did you say again?” I asked Mateo. Mateo walked towards me again, but I just stepped back.
“I-I will leave Chloe, so you can come back to me. Y-you don’t know how much I regret deceiving you, I’m sorry… I can do everything you want, just come back to me,” Mateo said. A smirk appeared on my face and felt even happier about what was happening. I put my phone to my ear while looking at Mateo.
“You heard it, right? He said he’s going to leave you,” I said with a smile to Chloe. Yes, she was the one I called to hear everything that her beloved husband was saying.
(“What? Ana? Damn you! Go to hell, you b*tch!”)
I laughed and looked at Mateo, who was confused, so I smiled at her and showed him my phone.
“Chloe, seduce your husband. It looks like he’s straying. Do what you did before to attract Mateo.” I grinned and licked my lips. “Don’t worry, he’s yours,” I said as I stared into Mateo’s eyes.
Her eyes widened when he heard Chloe’s voice.
“A-Ana, what are you doing?” asked Mateo. I just grinned and held my phone up to him, so he could hear his wife’s voice even more clearly.
(“Y-you…! You’re stealing Mateo from me! F–ck you! You better watch out!”)
I burst out laughing and doubled over, holding my stomach because they were making my night so much more enjoyable.
“Oh, come on. I don’t like all talk, Chloe. Do what you and Doña Caridad did to me,” I said while pretending to scratch my ear because of the nonsense she was saying.
I noticed Mateo furrowing his brow while looking at me, as if he was confused by what I said.
“What? Don’t listen to her, Mateo! She’s lying—” I didn’t let her finish speaking and hung up the call. Her voice was disgusting. It seems like she wasn’t affected by what happened to her earlier.
I sighed and finally faced Mateo, then I looked at him from head to toe. “You can’t expect anything from me, Mateo. All the things I have thrown away, I no longer pick up again. I won’t waste my time on you, either.” I held his cheek. “Go back to your wife and leave me alone,” I said seriously and turned away, but I hadn’t left yet when he pulled me, causing my eyes to widen.
“You’re mine! You’re mine!” he shouted. I struggled against his tight grip on me. “No one can touch you. You’re mine,” he whispered as he pulled me closer and licked my ear, then he looked at me but was surprised to see that I was looking at him emotionlessly before I shouted.
“HELP!” I shouted and all of Martin’s men, including Paris, came out of the car.
“Ana!”
“Lady Ana!”
I pretended to cry as I looked at Mateo.
“P-Please, let me go? Do you want to hurt me?” I asked him. He suddenly became gentle and touched my cheek.
“Come with me, okay? We’ll go far from here and live happily,” he said while caressing my cheek.
I grinned and whispered, “No and never,” and with all my strength, I punched him in the stomach, causing him to step back and kneel while holding his stomach.
I fixed my clothes and looked at him before raising my hand in front of him. “I am the queen, and you…" I grinned. “...you are my slave.” I clenched my hand. “I will bring you down with my hands, and in the end… You will kneel before me.” I leaned down and brought my lips close to his ear. “Go back to your fucking wife,” I whispered and smirked before straightening up and turning away from him.
I heard him shouting my name, but I didn’t look back at him. I am your worst nightmare.
THIRD POV
While Chloe, she just screamed in anger and threw her phone on the floor.
She held her head and screamed again because of what she heard from Mateo. She couldn't allow Mateo to leave her for Ana, and she wouldn’t let that happen.
“Ahhh! I will kill you, Ana! I will kill you!” she shouted as she smashed their things in their room with Mateo. “If I was able to have you killed before, I can do it again now. This time, I will definitely kill you.”
