Finally Got That Off My Chest

Earth Land, Ishgar, Kingdom of Fiore, Crocus. 

July 6, x791. 

*Rumble!* 

"Ah! Damn!" Yoruichi exclaimed as she rubbed er left jaw while pulling herself out of the rubble of a building that collapsed on top of her. "That really hurt." 

After saying that, she then looked up in the direction she came flying from. And what she saw was the debris from several collapsed buildings making a straight pat from where she had been fighting Laxus with Sui-Feng. 

However, what caught her attention the most was the tall woman calmly walking past the nearest pile of debris with a scowl on her face. 

"*Sigh* And I'm actually surprised that this is the first time this has happened since then." Yoruichi muttered while making eye contact with Cana, the woman who hit her only a moment ago. "Well, the first time you've done it, anyway." 

"Oh, if you hadn't run back to the Soul Continent after Marin hit you, believe me, it would have happened years ago." Cana replied, anger and grievance dripping from every word. 

"*Sigh* That's fair." Yoruichi said as she stood up. "So, now that you finally got that out of your system, how about talking like grown women?" 

"Oh, if you think that was enough to be called, "getting it out of my system," you got another thing coming." Cana snarled. "You have no idea how much your little stunt messed things up for us at home, Bitch. I mean, yeah, things got better. But they should have never got to that point in the first place." 

"*sigh* I guess that's fair, too." Yoruichi said as her [Shunko] roared back to life. "Unfortunately, I can't just let you beat me up until you're satisfied. On top of being in the middle of a competition, just getting hit one-sidedly isn't really my thing." 

*Zap!* 

In the next instant, Yoruichi disappeared from where she stood in a flash of lightning. 

*Smack!* 

Yet, to Yoruichi's surprise, Cana had no issue keeping up with her speed, even calmly raising her left hand to slap away the punch she threw in retaliation for the punch she just caught in the jaw. 

Yoruichi was then forced to [Flash Step] backwards to avoid the sharp cards held between the fingers of Cana's right hand when she swung that hand upwards to take advantage of Yoruichi's momentary loss of balance. 

At the same time, Cana quickly lowered her left hand and reached into Hoyle's deck before pulling out a handful of cards. 

"[Four of a Kind]." Cana chanted after glancing at the hand she drew. Then, she flung the cards in her right hand towards Yoruichi. "[Card Magic: Random Throwing]." 

At first, with just one swipe of Cana's arm, the thirteen cards she threw spread out as they traveled towards Yoruichi. And when Yoruichi saw the incoming cards, she thought nothing of them. However, as the cards got closer, they began to multiply. First by two times. Then, three, and finally four, making it seem as though Cana had thrown an entire deck at her. 

Not only that, but each card came flying in at a tricky angle, making dodging even more difficult for Yoruichi. Even so, with Yoruichi's years of experience and speed, coming out of that predicament without harm was not much of an issue. 

However, Cana never intended for such a basic spell to be a decisive blow. Instead, it was little more than a distraction, which was made evident when she started drawing and discarding cards from both her decks of cards at high speed. 

Finally, just as all the thrown cards were avoided, Cana was satisfied with the hands she had drawn. She then threw two combinations of her Magic Cards to each side of Yoruichi while invoking the hand she drew from Hoyle. 

"[Full House]." Cana chanted while the cards flew. Then, before she drew out the last card in her right hand, she started drawing from Hoyle once again. And it did not take long for her to draw the cards she wanted. "[Blackjack]." 

Meanwhile, Yoruichi turned towards Cana after the last throwing card passed. And when she did, she was just in time to see more cards flying towards her. However, these cards were not aimed at her directly. 

"Something tells me these cards are even more dangerous than the other ones." Yoruichi grumbled as she flared her magic power in preparation to defend or dodge. However, before any of the cards that were flying through the air activated, she saw Cana leap back before throwing down a final card. 

"[Card Magic: The Prayer's Fountain]." Cana chanted as the last card activated. 

*Woosh!* 

In the next instant, a torrent of water was ejected from the card Cana just threw. And thanks to the effect of the [Blackjack] she drew, it was 2.5 times more powerful than it would have usually been. So, it did not take long for the entire street to be flooded with water. 

Luckily, Yoruichi reacted quickly, jumping to avoid the rushing water, as her instincts were telling her that being washed away by the stream would not end well for her. 

"*Sigh* And this is why the Council hated Fairy Tail so much back in the day." Yoruichi said while watching the destruction releasing so much water in the middle of a town caused. 

Even so, Yoruichi was still wary of Cana. On top of that, she had not forgotten about the other cards she threw that had yet to activate. 

"[Card Magic: Explosions over Summoned Lightning]." Cana chanted once again. 

In the next instant, one of the card combinations that had been thrown multiplied by three times. Then, each set fanned out before spewing a torrent of flames at Yoruichi. And since she was so closed to the water summoned previously, when she avoided them, all the flames landed on the rushing torrent of water. 

*Boom!* 

*Swoosh!* 

As a result of the water heating so quickly, a steam explosion occurred, shooting a massive amount of steam in all directions. Even so, with Yoruichi's speed, she was able to avoid the brunt of the explosion. Though, when she reappeared from the steam cloud, it was clear that the heat was a little more than she expected to deal with, as she had several burns on her exposed skin. 

Unfortunately, because of the steam, Yoruichi had lost track of Cana, who had not stayed in one place after setting off her series of attacks. 

*Zap!* 

Before she could start trying to find her opponent, however, Yoruichi was forced to evade once again, as a pair of green lightning bolts fired at her from both her left and right. 

"Seriously, is this ever going to end?" Yoruichi asked as she [Flash Stepped] away from the lightning. 

Unfortunately for Yoruichi, waiting for her where she dodged to was Cana, her hand cocked back to throw another devastating punch. But with Yoruichi's years of fighting experience, she was not caught off guard again. Instead, she was able to raise her hands to defend. At the same time, she was able to threw a kick that landed on Cana's rib cage. 

*Bang!* x 2 

"Urgh!" Yoruichi groaned as the powerful impact on her arms sent her flying and left her arms feeling numb, despite the [Lightning magic] flowing across them. 

"Ahh!" Cana shouted in pain as she two was sent flying, a sharp pain shooting through her torso from Yoruichi's powerful kick. 

*Boom!* x 2 

A moment later, both Cana and Yoruichi were shot off in opposite directions, crashing into buildings at the ends of their impromptu flights. 

"*Cough* *Cough* Damn…" Cana muttered as she pulled herself out of the building's rubble. "Even without releasing her Zanpakuto, she still hits so hard." 

At the same time, Yoruichi was also climbing out of the remains of a building. When she did, she once again made eye contact with Cana. And when she saw the smirk on her opponent's face, despite the pain she was clearly feeling, she had another bad feeling. 

"[Straight Flush]." Cana chanted quietly enough that Yoruichi was unable to hear her. Though, she was able to read Cana's lips. "[Card Magic: Water Prison, Thunderbolt's Fate, Sun's Strength, icicle, Wind Edge]." 

When Yoruichi read Cana's lips, her eyes widened in surprise. Then, she tensed her muscles in preparation to use the [Flash Step]. However, before she could vanish from where she stood, a card buried in the rubble activated. Then, streams of water shot out from the card and wrapped around Yoruichi's arms and legs, holding her in place. 

 "Damn it…" Yoruichi muttered while struggling against the restraints. "Ahh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!" 

Unfortunately, the lighting flowing around her arms was Yoruichi's undoing, as the water restraining her acted as a conductor that cause her to shock herself with her own enhancement spell. 

On top of that, four more of Cana's [Card Magic] spells activated in quick succession, as well. Yoruichi was then bombarded by bolts of lightning, balls of fire, icicles, and wind blades. 

*Boom~~~~~~~~~~~~~!* 

And once again, Yoruichi was caught in an explosion. However, unlike last time, she was unable to get away from the brunt of this explosion. Even so, all those spells, each growing more powerful due to the [Straight Flush] Cana drew from Hoyle, were not enough to eliminate her. Though, it would be no exaggeration to say she was far from falling. 

"You're a lot tougher than I thought." Cana said, drawing Yoruichi's attention back to herself. "But this is where it ends. [Blackjack]." 

Hearing Cana's voice, Yoruichi struggled to raise her head in the voice's direction. And when she did, she saw Cana pointing her right arm while she was engulfed in bright light. 

"Well… Shit…" Yoruichi muttered to herself as she tried to mobilize the last dregs of her magic power. 

"Gather! O river of light that's guided by the fairies!" Cana said, beginning her incantation. "Shine! In order to perish the fangs of evil! [Fairy Glitter]!" 

And with Cana's incantation, the light surrounding her was sent forth. And with her low low magic power reserves after defending against all of Cana's previous attacks, Yoruichi was unable to evade. 

*Boom~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!* 

Then, just as [Fairy Glitter] struck, Yoruichi was teleported out of the town. However, that did not stop the torrent of light that Cana fired. And just like Ur's over the top attack, several more wizards were eliminated along with her target. And that included, Lyon of Lamia Scale, Ikkaku of Quatro Cerberus, and Karen of Blue Pegasus, the latter two having been engaged in combat before they were blindsided by the spell. 

"*Pant* *Pant* *Pant* Damn… I don't remember the last time I used up so much magic power in such a short time." Cana said while gasping for breath as she supported herself with her hands on her knees. "But I feel a lot better after finally getting to do that. *Sigh* And now, I guess I should actually have that talk with her like she wanted. I'm too old to still be throwing tantrums." 

"That's a good outlook to have. I'm sure your father will be proud to see how much you've grown not only as a wizard but as a person, too. He'll probably be completely insufferable, though." 

Hearing that familiar voice from so close while feeling a hand land on her shoulder, Cana froze as her eyes widened. She then slowly, like a rusty robot, turned her head to see who was standing there. And when she saw that it was Ur, with a wide smile on her face, she could only smile wryly. 

"Before you eliminate me, Ur, can you answer a question for me?" Cana asked in a resigned tone. 

"Sure. Ask away." Ur said cheerfully. 

"Even now, I still have my [Magic Power Detection] active." Cana explained as a premise. "So, just how did you sneak up on me without me noticing." 

"Oh, that's simple." Ur replied. "Do you remember back when Evergreen was able to make it so that no one could detect her [Fairy Magic] in the air? Well, I'm using the same trick. Just on myself. It's much harder to pull off. But with enough magic power control, you could do it, too. Lici does it instinctively when she uses her [Camouflage magic]. And I'm sure Alfonzo can do it, too. But with his ability to make metals that can hide his magic power signature, he probably doesn't use it much." 

"I see." 

*Freeze!* 

And that was all Cana could say in response before she was flash frozen and teleported out of the town. 

A moment later, Ur stretched her arms over her head with a satisfied smile on her face. Then, she checked to see how many people were left in the event. 

"Let's see, no one from our team has been eliminated. Sun is fighting with Kagura again. Marin is facing off against Yumichika. Lici is fighting Minerva and Orga at the same time. And Alfonzo is… still working." Ur muttered to herself as she inspected the entire town with [Magic Power Detection]. "As for the other teams, Laxus just finished off Sui-Feng… Oh, and it looks like that weird guy, Guy, took down the two from Lamia Scale while Bacchus took out the girl with the big boobs in Mermaid Heel and is fighting the Sabertooth Dragon Slayers right now." 

After reaching that point, Ur turned to look over her shoulder with a smile on her face. 

"Things are really heating up, aren't they, Tear?" Ur asked. 

"They are." Ultear replied with a smile. "You forgot one, though. I took out Anko from Mermaid Heel. And if you weren't closer than me, I would have gotten the point for Cana, too." 

"Well, you know the saying." Ur replied playfully. "Finders keepers." 

Ultear's playful laughter rang out shortly afterwards. A moment later, however, both the mother's and daughter's smiles disappeared. Then, they made the [Ice-Make] casting gesture at the same time as Ur turned around to face Ultear. 

"Now, why don't you show me how much you've grown, My Tear." Ur said with a battle hungry grin on her face. "it's been a while since the last time we've sparred, after all." 

"Gladly." Ultear replied as she flared her magic power.
