What I Have (part 2)

After that, the day continued so insanely fast.

Unlike what happened at school, the time I spent with Nico felt like it went by in a flash.

For context, today's entire lunch break lasted only thirty minutes. And yet, it felt like three hours. After school, Nico and I went hunting demons again, and then we had a date at the mall. All of that took over five hours.

And yet, it only felt like thirty minutes.

After leaving school, Nico led the walk towards the alley outside the school where he and I previously ran to. Just like two days ago, we were running away from his friends and escaped here to catch our breaths. Now, we came back here because Nico led the way.

I wondered as to why he brought me here, but apparently it wasn't just to escape from the eyes of the school students. Upon arriving, Nico let go of my hand and rushed towards a nearby roadside shop that sells random things. I watched as Nico conversed so easily with the shop owner, and then the shop owner gave him two really long items.

Those are his water guns. He placed them at the shop because he couldn't bring them to school.

I could only watch in pain as Nico thanked the shop owner for allowing him to keep those water guns there. For someone as sociable like Nico, such a thing was definitely within his capabilities, so I really shouldn't be that surprised.

He then ordered an online cab towards the location since, as always, it was quite far away. And during the time we were waiting, Nico and I exchanged stories of what happened earlier during lunch break.

We didn't get to tell each other anything earlier by the backyard hanging area, mainly because it was almost time for class to start. But now, we have all the time in the world since we are waiting for the cab to arrive.

I told Nico what happened to me in the bathroom. When I told him about the scissors being thrown to my face, he looked rather petrified knowing how scary it was. He kept on commenting non-stop about how much worse it could've gotten if it landed on my eye instead, and I immediately realized that possibility.

Speaking of, what kind of student actually threw the scissors like that? Was she a genuine psychopath?

While I was telling my story, the cab arrived. We continued the story inside the cab, ignoring the driver who was listening to the whole story.

We arrived at the destination, which was apparently right by a train station. It's an abandoned warehouse that was blocked by thin metal walls. As usual, there is nobody around the area.

Just how is Nico finding these places? Does he secretly have a job as a demon hunter??

I finished the story right before we entered the warehouse, and we didn't really enter right away. We were too busy talking, and since it was Nico's turn to tell his story, I suggested that we both sat down in a nearby café to talk about things.

It ended up becoming like a date again, to the point where everything just felt so similar. Like before, Nico is paying. We ordered the same drinks as one another again, since Nico likes cold and sweet drinks just like me. However, we picked a different snack. Nico got himself spicy sliced potatoes while I simply ordered a small slice of strawberry cake.

He was the one paying anyway, plus the cake was only two thirds of the price of his sliced potatoes.

After sitting down, Nico told him his side of the lunch break. Not long after the bell for the lunch break rang, multiple female classmates of his suddenly stood up and told everyone to leave the classroom. They all aggressively told them off, and one by one, everyone left. Leaving only Nico alone.

Feeling confused, Nico thought that he too should leave. But, a single person entered the classroom and closed the door behind her.

That was Alica. This was all her plan to confess.

After that, Alica talked eye to eye with Nico. She mentioned just how much she likes Nico, and how important he was to her. She even goes as far as telling him that she wants to marry him.

Of course, being a psycho individual like Nico, he paid such a beautiful girl no attention whatsoever. He mentioned that he felt nothing when Alica told her those things, and the only emotion he felt was when I arrived in front of the classroom bleeding and soaking wet all over.

He told me he was so angry that he might just strangle Alica to death. I was glad that he was angry, but I told him not to do that since Alica was my enemy.

School isn't fun without an enemy. She is my target, so don't you dare take it away.

After telling me his story, I asked him just what exactly he likes about me, to the point where he is even willing to reject the prettiest girl. He laughed upon hearing that question, and he answered with a wide cheeky grin.

"Isn't that obvious? It's your courage!"

He said, which got me very confused.

"Courage?"

"That's right! You never give up. Even when the whole world is against you, you always continue fighting. That persistence gave birth to courage, as you became no longer afraid of anything.

You're not afraid of showing everybody that you are a bad person. You're not afraid of having people hate you, and you're not afraid to do anything you want. Certainly, there is no one in this world who you fear. Am I wrong?"

Well… It's not that you're wrong, but… doesn't that just make me seem unhinged?

"You're talking as if I'm a sociopath."

"True. That's what I liked about you, after all."

Seriously…? As horrible as I am in his words, in the end, he is even worse for liking someone like that.

"It's very fun to be with you! Hanging out with your best friends was something, but being with you is always so colorful. I think you're the best company I can ever ask for!"

Can't really reject him, there. The time I spent with him had always been so hectic and messy, to the point where it can never get boring. We nearly died on the first day we met, we fought demons together twice now, we even caused such a massive scene today.

And I'm sure, in the future, things will only get harsher for the two of us. It's not always negative, but at least it won't be boring.

"Also, you kept talking as if Alica is just so beautiful compared to you. Something tells me that you are just as pretty as her. You just never tried!"

Nico said with a wide smile, and I cannot look more surprised.

It's always been in my mind that I just simply never tried to look pretty. Peach and Alica, they wore cosmetics to school, which should've been punishable by the school rules. And yet, I never even bothered trying to do so since I know everyone will just hate me anyway.

But now, since I have become so infamous, it's probably about time I tried it. To prove all those people who disliked me because of my looks. And for Nico, who is now dating me.

Cosmetics… Man, just the thought of it made me sick.

We finished up with the coffees and got up from the café. Nico led the way towards the entrance, and we began preparing for the demon hunt. This time, I had a wound on my head. I won't be able to move crazily like before, so I can only rely on Nico to help me shoot.

Fortunately, the wound doesn't affect my brain from processing information quickly. I can give orders to Nico just fine, and as long as I don't move around too much, it doesn't hurt.

The demon was made out of a barely visible green liquid. It can run like the previous smoke demon, but the amount was not infinite like before. The green liquid demon's boss that was in the center of the warehouse continuously creates the green liquid demons by separating itself from it, and over time, that amount gets reduced.

Originally, it was quite massive. It had the size of almost half of the entire warehouse, but it couldn't move due to how large it was. And since it continuously created smaller demons, it became smaller and smaller due to the reduction of mass that was caused by making the smaller demons.

After shooting it for about fifteen minutes, the green liquid demons stopped coming. The boss finally ran out of juice, and it became only the size of a grown man. Nico and I just shot it a few times with our water guns, and it disappeared into thin air so easily.

For some reason, the difficulty got so much easier on this one. I was half expecting it to be much harder than before, since the second demon was much tougher than the first. But, apparently, it wasn't like that for the third one.

The shootout barely lasted fifteen minutes. Now, we have all the time in the world until sundown.

So, Nico suggested we go somewhere again. Just the two of us.

And that is how we ended up at the mall again.

This time, we took our time checking things out in the mall since I rarely came here. I had plenty of things I was planning to buy since forever, but I had no idea where to obtain them. After visiting almost all the shops in the mall, I now know where I can get those items.

Nico and I had another snack break at 4 PM, and I paid for my own food this time. I can't have him pay for all my snacks every time we date, because he will just go broke at that pace.

At 6 PM, we ended the date and went back home.

The entire evening, Mom interrogated me on what I've been doing the entire day. School ended at noon, yet I came home this late. Plus, I came home with a bandage on my forehead. Obviously, something bad has happened.

So, I told her everything during dinner. Starting from what happened this morning, all the way until the lunch break war. She was very shocked hearing how I was so hated to the point where people would actually harm me physically.

Well, the one who did the wound to my forehead was definitely a psycho. But, I shouldn't tell her that.

Then, I began the real discussion. I told Mom about my plans to win the war, and she gave me some suggestions as well as some help. The entire evening, I spent so long planning things with her that I ended up sleeping quite late.

Things will only heat up from this point on…
