1.x Epilogue
-----
The weekend passed by so quickly, and I didn't even notice that it was already Monday.
The entire weekend, I was busy with both the job with Uncle Deve and the business plan with Mom. I certainly didn't have time to answer Nico's phone calls, even though we promised each other at the mall to call one another during weekends.
Monday morning, I opened my phone to find so many missed calls from Nico. I didn't really open my phone much all weekend since I was busy, and I found so many unread messages coming from Nico.
Oops… sorry about that.
But, I'll make it up for you today.
I woke up super early in the morning since I had to do plenty of preparations. The past two days have all been for this day, as well as the days moving forward.
After preparing for forty minutes, I changed into my school uniform for Mondays. I ate breakfast quickly, and I began leaving the house. Mom saw a glimpse of me as I left, and she grinned after seeing me. I bade farewell to her before leaving, and she wished me luck for today.
There was really no need for luck, but every day of school has been nothing but battles for me lately. Who knows, today could become much tougher than before.
But, I'm not afraid.
After all, I have been preparing my weapons for a while now.
Arriving at school, I noticed a large amount of eyes watching me. I entered the gate the same way as everybody else, and yet only I was kept an eye on by everyone. I ignored all those gazes and simply kept on walking to reach the school building in the distance.
During the walk, I came across a few people that I recognized. The girls from class A who were part of the bathroom group, and they immediately landed their eyes on me. But, I ignored them as well.
I kept walking until I reached the classroom, and I finally arrived. The air turned silent as soon as I stepped in, and all eyes were on me once again. I turned my gaze around the room and noticed the shocked and confused expression being worn on everyone's faces.
Emil and Peach specifically, I noticed their expression to be the most unique. While one looked so happy seeing me, the other looked so devastated and disgusted.
As soon as she saw me, Emil stood up and waved her hand at me. Then, she greeted me with her morning energy.
"Good morning, Elizabeth!! You look beautiful!!!"
She said, and I simply smiled softly at her as I waved back. I noticed the air turned warmer by the second. The boys were completely charmed, and the girls couldn't look more surprised.
That's right. Those are the exact faces that I want to see out of all of you.
Feast your eyes on the girl you've all been hating for so long.
Do you feel it? The regret for not being friendly towards me?
Starting today, I will come to school like this. No longer have I worn glasses, since Mom and I got myself contact lenses. Now, I don't look so nerdy anymore.
Not just that, I also went to the salon. Mom taught me the needs that our girlish hair required, and she brought me to the salon to give me the care I needed. It wasn't just my hair, my face also received some patching up. Where previously I had a few bumps of acne on my face, now those things are no more. The scar from the wound on my forehead is still there, but it's covered a little bit by my hair.
My facial skin is as smooth as a baby. My hair is silky and straight, and I lifted only the left side to add more damage. The right side was left flowing straight downwards, and there was a reason for this. I also pierced my ears with some cheap but pretty earrings, which apparently you can get almost everywhere online.
Aside from looks, I also studied a lot of model magazines. The salon I went to allowed me to borrow the magazines since nobody read them anyway, and I studied the postures of the models from the photos. How they stand, how they pose, basically a way to increase their appeal with just standing still. The next thing I should do is to watch videos on their acting to study their behaviors, but that will just be going too far.
I'm coming to school to study, not to be a model. However, unexpected things always happen in a classroom like this, which is why all these weapons are going to be necessary for survival.
As soon as I sat down, Peach approached me. I turned to her and grinned, and we exchanged glances in silence for a second.
"I recognize the effort, but nothing will change."
She said with a cold grin, and I simply smiled softly at her as I replied.
"Darling~, everything will change. Feel free to watch from below."
Below me. Yes, because you have always been below me, Peach.
Hearing this, she became even more pissed. She didn't show it with her expression and just stayed silent, but I can see it in her eyes. She turned around and was about to walk away, but she said one last thing to me.
"The truce is long~ over, by the way. You should start preparing yourself for what is coming."
Peach said as she walked away, and I lifted my hand to cover the psycho grin I'm wearing. After all, I'm ready.
Damn, I'm so ready. Start whenever, Peach.
The moment you start attacking, I will counter it with ten times the harm you dealt to me.
The first lesson starts after the bell rings, and it's finally time for the first test. And as expected, I sucked at it.
I spent the entire weekend beautifying myself that I just don't have time to study at all. The free time was taken because I had to go to Uncle Deve's to exorcist, mainly so I can get the money to pay for the salons and stuff. It wasn't an easy weekend, so I didn't really have the opportunity to open a single study book.
But, that's fine. It's still the first year, anyway. The next few years are still going to be more important than this first year scores, so I can chill with grades. Establishing my power is more important.
Also, it's not like I didn't study at all. As soon as I heard there was an exam coming up, I immediately started studying. I didn't study during the weekends, but I already studied before that.
After the first lesson test finished, I messaged Nico on the phone. I told him to meet me at the same place in the backyard hanging area, and he replied so quickly. I didn't go immediately because I had to go to the bathroom to check my looks in the mirror. I can't reveal this appearance for the first time to him when there's a flaw. No, it has to be perfect.
After making sure everything was okay, I went out to see the pretty boy. Except now, he is not the only one pretty.
During the walk in the hallway, there are even more eyes on me than before. The students here know who I am, but they probably didn't recognize me since I changed how I look. Now, they are just staring as if I'm a beautiful senior who went to the wrong floor.
I saw a glimpse of class A, and I noticed a girl was walking towards the exit. Alica Kenton alongside her girls are exiting the class as I walk past, and the two of us trade glances.
I grinned at her as I walked past, and she couldn't look more confused. She probably didn't recognize me, so I simply ignored her and continued walking.
Looks are indeed everything in this world. Even a face so average can get you so much hatred if you try reaching for high places. People will ignore you if you don't look so extravagant, and they will act differently between the good looking and ugly people. Going for the most popular boy is the last thing you should do if you have mid appearance. You must always stay within your lane and let everybody dictate what you do based on your appearance alone.
However, it's time I break free from that ruling. I've spent the last nine years of school suffering for nothing. I won't stay like that forever, and I have broken out of my cocoon.
Looks? It's only a weapon.
Friends? More like pawns.
Riches? Who needs them?
Enemies were all I needed to grow myself. Be it demons or humans, I'll crush every single one of them and grow stronger.
My story… has only just begun.
Arriving at the backyard, my eyes searched for the blonde haired boy at the outdoor hanging area. I saw him sitting down playing his phone at the same spot as yesterday, and his eyes were locked on that screen he was playing on.
In that case, I'll call him. I opened my phone and texted him to look up. As soon as I did that, Nico quickly lifted his head up and searched around to look for me.
Then, his eyes landed on me, and he couldn't look more surprised. Now that he has looked at me, I became more scared to move forward.
What will he say? What if he doesn't like it? What if he is annoyed by this? Was this a good idea?
The negative thoughts kept on rolling, but I shook my head a little and began taking the first step forward. The only way to move is forward, and that's the direction I'm taking. Be it good or bad, I just need to keep moving.
After walking for a while, I arrived in front of him. He is still sitting down, and his eyes were watching my every move with a judgmental gaze and a smile so nice to look at it makes me go crazy. I sat down in front of him and rested my chin above my left hand on the table.
I waited for a while, but Nico is still not saying anything. He is just staring at me. Noticing this silence of his, I grinned wider.
"Really? Nothing?"
I said, and he giggled a little.
"Well, I'm just enjoying the view."
Hah… this guy is just so insufferable.
I didn't just do this for him, and yet it seemed like he was the one winning the most. Well, it's not wrong for him to feel like that. His girlfriend just went from 10 to 100. If Nico was much uglier than this and suddenly becomes like how he is now, I would lose my mind as well.
"And? What are you thinking?"
"It's just… I'm glad you're finally taking action. I know it meant a lot to create such a decision."
Yeah… he knows very well.
It's not easy to just suddenly change yourself. I had to beat up my lazy self to wake up earlier in the morning so I can put on the make up. I completed so many tasks that Uncle Deve gave me to the point he became worried that I overworked myself.
And… Mom. She even helped me pay for the cosmetics since I still couldn't afford them with the exorcism pay. Not only was this a difficult thing for me, but it was also an effort to support from the people around me.
However, it's an action that is worthy to be taken. The rewards are invaluable.
"Yeah. It wasn't easy. Thank you for recognizing that."
"But, still. This change is… surprising. For you to change so much, now I can't smooch you freely. Otherwise, I'd lose myself."
I quickly became disgusted by his comment, and the change of my expression made him laugh loudly.
Yeah… this is Nico, all right. He has always been an understanding guy, while also being a disgusting kissing pervert.
On the other hand, I'm the one not being myself.
I laughed alongside him, and I lifted my right hand forward on the table. Nico saw the hand moving, and he placed his palms above mine on the table.
"Was this why you didn't answer my calls during the weekends?"
"Well, it's a busy weekend. I had to exorcise a lot of people to get a ton of money. Then, I went to the salon with my Mom with that money."
"How intriguing. Tell me more!"
And so, I told him everything that happened during the weekends.
The painful processes, the joyous hair treatment, or even the exorcism jobs I had to attend at the other side of the damn town. It was an eventful weekend, completely topping and ending the week off as the craziest week of my life.
However, that week was merely the beginning.
Everything… became so much louder from that point on.
A lot of talking, a lot of fighting, and a lot of wars. Many days of surviving, and many days of stepping on others. New enemies, new challenges, and new weapons. Experiencing both heaven and hell, as well as venturing in and out of them.
The true battles have yet to come, and the real enemies have yet to show themselves.
This...
Is only the starting point.
