Book 2: Rising Power
2.1 - Evil Plans
-----
An abandoned construction site.
It was abandoned ever since the construction process was halted six months ago due to the death of one of the workers. Thanks to this, the site has been left alone for many months now.
But, that doesn't mean it was left completely alone the entire time.
Standing inside the first floor of the construction building is a single man in his late twenties. He had short hair trimmed on the side, and he had sunglasses on. His body is covered by an oversized jeans jacket, and his legs were wearing skinny jeans.
His right hand is holding a single lit cigarette, and he took a taste of it as he looked around the empty building.
He was alone at the location. And yet, the air inside felt so warm.
This was because he was never truly alone.
"So, you're saying… two children took down my baby?"
The man said while breathing out the cigarette smoke. There was nobody else besides him in this dark and empty building, and yet he was still talking loudly.
Nobody… who can be seen physically.
'Yes… master. They were high school students.'
A voice was heard from the air, and the man nodded to that voice. He threw the cigarette in his hand to the ground next to his feet, and then he stepped on it.
Very hard.
BAAMM!!!!!
The sound of the thousand ton shoes hitting the floor was heard loudly inside the building. The ground where the man stood was crushed to oblivion, and the cigarette was reduced to become as thin as paper. The floor still looks fine, since the destroyed crater was only at the size of his oversized shoe.
After crushing the no longer lit up cigarette, the man turned around to leave the building.
"Plant more babies. This time, prioritize the rapid growth and powerful ones."
The man commanded the air, and the air nodded at him invisibly.
'Yes, master.'
The voice in the air replied again, and the air turned colder as the owner left the building.
The man stepped out of the empty building and stared into the skies. He noticed the sun is now rising very slowly on the horizon, marking the start of a new day in this cursed world.
"A cursed world… What a dream to live in."
The man said as he lifted his hand. The air around him swirls heavily, and he disappears into thin air right after.
The mysterious man was nowhere to be seen ever since…
From that day on, the amount of supernatural cases in the town multiplied.

If last weekend was the most packed day of my life, then today has got to be the easiest going day I've ever experienced.
Last Saturday, I literally went around the entire town. Uncle Deve gave me a list of five requesters who commissioned an exorcism to be done, all with the expectation of having me completing them within a week.
Little did he know, I completed all of them within a single day. I contacted every single person on the list and visited them immediately. The exorcism process didn't even take five minutes, but the talking, introduction, and farewells took over thirty minutes each. The exorcism mainly requests me to check about the requester's family members or their friends, and all five of them were genuinely being glued on by a weak demon.
In the end, I spent over four hours just going around the town, going from house to house with nothing but my phone and a large bottle of holy water in my backpack.
After making so much money in a single day (and a lot of yelling from Uncle Deve), I went to the mall the next day with Mom. During the date with Nico, I checked out a few beauty shops at the mall to see if there's anything I can buy there. I visited them with Mom who is an expert on beauty cosmetics, and she suggested which ones I should buy.
After buying the cosmetics, we visited a salon outside the mall. Being a roadside salon, it's quite cheap and not that crowded. As a result, the whole process was done so fast and I didn't even realize it.
Arriving back home, I studied the cosmetics I just bought. Mom gave some suggestions here and there while also lending her makeup tools to complete my set. I learned how to use the brushes and dyes so quickly that I thought I might have a talent in painting.
The results of the trial were nice, and Mom approved of it. The next day, I did the same thing and went to school.
And… Man, I should've done this a long time ago.
Life is… so easy when you're pretty.
Normally, people would just harass me when they needed someone to do dirty work in class, like bringing the stack of books to the teacher's desk or passing the books to everyone at their seats. And today, I wasn't even considered to be doing such a thing.
Many chances were given when the teachers asked the students to help bring the books to the teachers desk, and I was not called even once. Usually, I was the number one go to. I'm very surprised how invisible I have become to them.
During class, the teacher would call random students to answer a question on the whiteboard. Normally, I always get called in a 1 in 5 chance. Today, fifteen questions were asked, and I was not called.
Was it… my appearance? They used to harass me with dirty work, and now nothing happened?
The third lesson was physical education class. I purposely cleared my make up for this class since it will just mess my face up to be sweating. But, to my surprise, I wasn't sweating at all.
The teacher would often call random students to play basketball in a six against six scenario, and most students needed to play twice. I only had to play once.
And to top it all, I didn't receive a single pass. Usually, they would rely on me since they don't want to be too tired and just let me be the one wasting my breath. But, my teammates didn't even bother passing to me. The only time I touched the ball was when I had to defend an attack, which only happened twice. Their attacks always failed, and our team won 10-0 since it was a short game, first to ten points.
Since we won by such a large margin, our team received a really high score from the teacher. And the best part was, I got a higher score than the others for putting a complete stop to two attacking attempts from the enemy.
T-This has to be the best day ever!?
While it was true that I didn't sweat at all, I still tried a little bit during the game. I didn't want to lose even a single point, so I ended up defending so damn well during the attacks. After all, my enemy was none other than Peach.
That's 10-0 in my books, Peach. Be better, noob.
I gave her a cold stare and a grin, and she only stared at me angrily while wiping her sweat with her shirt. She then walked away to sit down next to her girls, and I can see Emil being part of their gang.
That is just the wrong crowd to be in, Emil. But, I get it. She is just too nice of a person.
The class ended, and I got away with one of the highest scores in class with barely any effort. Today's scores were quite important since every subject is having an exam this week, so this is sort of counted as an exam.
After school, I promised to meet up with Nico by the gate. As expected, he was waiting there with his friends. And after seeing me, every single person who was with Nico lost their minds.
"W-Well, hello there, lady! Nice to meet you! I'm Jeremy!"
"I'm Link. I've never seen you before, pretty lady."
"Woi!! Just who are you guys flirting to!?"
Jeremy and Link quickly introduced themselves as if I was someone they never met before, and Nico is doing his best to keep them away from me. Meanwhile, I turned my attention towards the silent guy, Randy.
As expected, the bald guy is still so stiff. He just lifted his hand at me with a smile, and I did the same thing out of respect. He is the only normal guy out of the four of them.
And while I was greeting Randy, Nico was explaining to Jeremy and Link about my appearance. They immediately turned shocked after knowing that it was me.
"T-That's her!? The brute!?"
"For sure, this is a development I was not expecting from a brute. Certainly welcomed, though."
"Who are you calling brute…?"
Jeremy and Link commented after realizing, and I cannot look more pissed.
