Surprisingly I woke up before Madison and Juilan. I decided to go downstairs and make us some breakfast. I went downstairs and was trying to figure out what to make until I realized I knew nothing about making food so I stepped outside and went for a jog instead.
I was admiring each house I passed, especially if that house had a dog in the backyard. I missed Cerberus so badly. Though he probably wasn't missing me a whole lot, dad likes to spoil Cerberus so he's doing just fine.
Some kid tugged on my shirt and started talking to me.
"Hi" the boy said
"Hello, what's your name?" I asked
"Mommy said I shouldn't tell strangers." he said
"That's smart of your mom but I'm no stranger my name is Luna." I said
"Cool name I like yours better than mine." he said
"So what's your name?" I asked.
"How about this I'll take you to my house then tell you my name." he said
"Um okay." I said
We walked for four minutes and we were already there.
"Here's my house. We're having a yard sale." he said
"Who would wanna buy your yard if you're keeping the house?" I asked
The boy started laughing.
"No silly, a yard sale is when you sell the stuff you set out on your lawn." he said
"Now that makes more sense." I said
"Your weird" he said
"And your mean" I said
We walked up to his mom.
"Hello, do you see anything you would like?" she asked me
"Oh no I just got here I met your son walking just now I'm not sure where he was headed." I said
"Hey don't tell her!" he said
"You ran away again Tate! I can't believe this. How many times do I have to tell you daddy isn't coming back sweetie." she said
"But what if he's just lost? I was trying to find him but instead I found her instead." he said taking my hand
"Thank you for finding my son. I wouldn't have realized he was gone since I'm busy watching over all of this." she said.
"No worries Tate's my friend." I said looking down at him
"You're my new friend!" Tate said smiling
"Miss how much is this vase?" a woman asked Tate's mom
"Hey wanna see everything we're getting rid of?" he asked
"Sure thing." I said
I walked over to a table as Tate followed behind me.
"This stuff is pretty." I said
"I know it's all of mom's jewelry that Daddy gave her." he said sadly
"This is a lot of jewelry." I said
"Mhm." he said
"Wow, that star necklace is beautiful." I replied
"I think you should wear it. It would look nicer on you then laying on that table." he said
"You think so?" I asked.
"Yes!" he said
He grabbed the necklace off the table and carefully unclasped it. He made me kneel down so he could put it around my neck.
"Wow, it looks good." he said
I was amazed by how pretty it looked on me.
"Let's show mommy I know she'll agree." he said
"Um okay but I don't have any money on me." I said
"Come on." he said pulling me
"That'll be nine dollars and forty-three cents." his mom said to a old man
After that he yanked on his mom.
"Mommy doesn't your necklace look good on Luna?" he asked
"It looks beautiful on you Luna and it fits with your name." she said
"Thanks but I have no money on me." I said
"Mommy, she's not lying she told me the same thing but I made her try on the necklace because I knew it would look good on her."
"Is that so Tate?" she asked
He nodded
"Luna, take the necklace it's on me. I don't know what would have happened to poor Tate if you wouldn't have met him walking." she said
"Thanks miss.." I said
"My name is Miss. Lauren." she said
"Thanks Miss. Lauren, you and Tate have a good day and strike it rich." I said
"You have to leave already?" he asked pouting
"I'm sorry Tate but I gotta go." I said
"Tate, I'm sure she has to go if she wants to catch her bus." Miss. Lauren said.
"Can I give you a hug before you leave Luna?" he asked
"Sure buddy."
He hugged me and I sprinted back home. By the time I got back Juilan and Madison were doing the dishes. They had eaten breakfast without me. Rats!
"Hey guys" I said as I sat down at the table
"You've been up early." Madison said
"I wish I was a go-getter and exercised in the morning." Julian said
"Now Luna go change while I get your breakfast ready. We have a long day ahead of ourselves."
