Thunder Temple (1)

I sat in the spiritual hot spring consolidating my new strength. I could feel that the amount of energy I had in my body was far greater than I had initially thought. With this much power I might be a good matchup for the 2nd Order Saint Taboo brother Lin. Even if it wasn't the case, I had my seniors there who would be more than enough to balance out the remaining portion. I just hope he doesn't come back as a 3rd order. Or worse with a posse.

I spent half a day in the Spiritual Hot Spring before I got out. I had a strong feeling that if I had left before then I would regret it. How right I was could not be underestimated. This because My Knowledge Sea was now on par with a 1st order transcendent realm. Before the bath it was only on par with a 2nd order Immortal Ascension Realm at best. So this Spiritual Hot Spring was indeed an excellent find.

I vaguely felt like I was on the verge of creating a new move. Either way though it was time to depart. Everyone packed up and we headed to the Thunder Temple. All of us were far more energized and ready to go. Thinking we could handle whatever the world would throw at us. We arrived at a restriction. It wasn't to block those coming in but rather to block the sight of what lay within.

We passed through free and clear. The sight before us was simply magnificent. We saw a truly massive Temple. In fact it wouldn't be a stretch to say that it was half the size of a mountain. Whoever built this must have been a truly powerful existence.

"Junior brother, this place is simply awe inspiring. Do you really feel a connection to it?" Senior brother Ming asked, as the others were in speechless awe.

I walked up to open the door. I was entirely unafraid of the result. This connection was definitely something to do with the Dao of Thunder and Lightning for certain. It looked old so it clearly wasn't made by my father. So… just who built it? It didn't matter.

"Junior brother?" Senior Brother Xiang asked, just before my hand touched the door.

Once my hand made contact with the door a series of things began to occur. Mainly a powerful Thunder Spirit appeared. It had clearly been left behind to determine the worth of potential inheritors. The Spirit floated around me for a period of time and then nodded. It then disappeared and the door opened wide. The sight inside was simply too impressive.

"This is amazing! Simply amazing. This is just what I need. With a find like this I will reach the Origin King Realm with relative ease. The senior who left this behind was indeed rich with Thunder & Lightning Qi. Senior Brothers and Sisters come and take a look." I said, walking deeper inside.

The walls were filled with many different artifacts. All with the Lightning & Thunder attributes. This would be a heaven for anyone looking for a halfway decent weapon artifact. However there were a few things that caught my eye almost immediately.

At the back of the hall lay a singular corpse. It sat there as if it was waiting for someone to pass their legacy on to. Likely hoping that they would find someone before their death. This did not happen. However, I was able to see that this person had clearly been a peak 3rd Order Origin King. It emanated a powerful Aura even after death. Something that only begins after the 3rd Order Origin King Realm.

At first I was surprised by what I saw. That was until focused on the garments that remained. The corpse was wearing a dress. The design was rather elaborate and displayed just how much this woman cared about her Dao. Now I walked forward till I was close enough to properly present myself to the senior. I cupped my hands and bowed respectfully. A tear came to my eye as I realized there could have been so many things this woman could have taught me.

"Venerable senior… this junior has finally found you. This Junior apologizes for not arriving sooner." I said, now kneeling out of pure respect for what this woman had managed to build.

An energy fluctuation sparked and a remnant soul stood up to look at me. A young man kneeling before her dignified corpse, out of nothing but pure sadness. She then noticed that I possessed the Lightning True Body. Something that she herself had been searching for ahad finally appeared. A disciple who would be able to inherit all of her understanding of the Dao of Thunder & Lightning. The life that one leads when following this mighty Dao. She would now finally be able to rest in peace knowing that her life's work would be passed down to a new generation.

"I, Fang Qing, the Sky Queen, and the Thunder Tyrant, grant the young man to raise his head and state his name." The soul remnant of Fang Qing stated.

"Senior Sky Queen, I was graced with the name Wang An Leiji, by my late mother." I said looking up to gaze on the soul remnant.

"You have a good name, and a good face. You seem to possess the Lightning True Body. This makes you worthy to accept my inheritance. Everything here is for you. I only wish for one thing. Don't forget me, and lay me to rest in a place with plenty of natural thunderstorms. Allow me to rest with the very thing that kept me safe in life." Fang Qing's Soul remnant said, floating closer.

"Venerable Senior can rest assured this junior will make such arrangements. To follow the path of Thunder & Lightning, one must live, die, and rest in the way of this Dao. This Junior will not fail in this matter." I said confidently and conveyed I knew exactly what it was that led her to desire this.

"Good! Then I can trust junior to take care of my burial. Though it is a shame my dress won't be of use to you young man. You should still keep it though." Fang Qing's soul remnant giggled slightly.

"Senior, to do such a thing. Id… be… well… undressing you…" I said, a little flushed. Yes she was dead but still I could see from her soul remnant that she was a stand alone beauty of the ages.
