Prelude to Breakthrough
I flew back to a safe distance to watch what was coming next. The extent of the distortion that was about to come... Well, it would be difficult to say how big it would be, until it happens, but I'm definitely far enough away to be safe, while simultaneously being close enough to act if needed.
Just as I finished getting myself to a safe distance, a huge disturbance truly did form. And I took a few more zhang backwards, just in case. Why? Because it nearly hit my nose, how am I supposed to keep others back with only that much space to work with?
And then like moths to the flame, a great many powerful individuals started coming over to watch. At first they were all curious about what was going on, that was, until they saw with their own eyes. All of these people were Open Heaven Realms of the 6th rank and 7th rank. And then just slightly behind their appearance was the Open Heavens from the meeting. This naturally included all of my mothers, and yes, even Lan Xun was here as well, being shielded by Smiles power.
"Sorry we were late. We had to get an idea of what was happening first. You just left so quickly. Fortunately, Mistress Su Yan explained most of the situation for us." Iron Blood Great Emperor said, half chuckling.
"You don't look too well now. Are you alright my son, my darling precious boy?" Su Yan asked, nervously when she noticed that my own energy was fluctuating violently.
"I'll be alright in a few moments. Father's energy was simply that chaotic, even the void is less dangerous than that stuff at the moment. So I took no small amount of damage. However, it's mostly healed now. Such is the nature of my body. So please don't worry about me with those eyes, mother, my heart can't take it if I make you cry again." I explained.
"You and I both know exactly what I mean, and that wasn't it." Su Yan said with a pained expression, as if she was about to cry again.
"Mother, all I can say right now is that I am perfectly fine. In that I mean I won't suffer anything bad. In fact I'll simply be stronger after this ordeal. And the problem is nearly resolved as it is." I explained, reluctantly. "Moreover, even if there was something truly wrong, I can't afford to miss this chance. Father's constitution is the most similar to that of my own. If I want to have a greater chance of success I must watch this process." I added with a reluctant sigh, and then conveyed my feelings through our connection.
"I see, then I won't press the issue any further. But in exchange you're going to make good on that list." Su Yan said, patting my head embarrassingly.
"That's right, as much as I hate to accept it, Yang Kai must be made to take responsibility for all of the women whose hearts he has taken over his lifetime. And we will help you too. It shouldn't be too difficult since all of them should be easy to find now that they are all in the Star Boundary." Yu Ru Meng said with a pained smile.
"I'll be clear, it's not that I want to share him with any more sisters, it's just that... After all, how can he be called the greatest man if he has hurt so many innocent ladies' hearts? Can such a thing truly be said?" Xia Ning Chang added in a rare moment of straightforwardness.
"I'll use my power as a Great Emperor to find them all, and make sure they know the situation. But if they refuse to come then we shouldn't force them either." I said, in low whisper to all of my mothers.
"That's for the best, the situation is going to be perfect for us to get this done. Since Yang Kai is going to be holed up in seclusion for at least a year or two to stabilize his cultivation after today." Shang Qing Luo smiled with more interest than anything. "More sisters to play with when the time comes. How could I not get excited at such a prospect? You understand don't you, son?" She asked, looking at me.
"I'd be an idiot if I didn't understand it by now. My first wife is much the same way, and it rubbed off on my second wife. What I didn't expect was for it to rub off on the rest... So yeah, even if my father didn't have the ability to force me to marry two more young ladies... It is practically a foregone conclusion that I won't be spared when any of my wives gets that look in their eyes." I said casually, as my attention became all too absorbed in watching the process Yang kai was undergoing now. Even going as far as to use my special innate eye technique.
"Huh, two more? Hmm, I see, makes sense. With strength like that I can't really complain. Though it is annoying that my disciple won't be enough." Iron Blood sighed, and looked up to watch.
"Of course she wouldn't be the final woman to marry my grandson. He even explained as much prior to you giving your blessing, or have you forgotten? Did Leiji knock your head around too hard, or what?" Bing Yue said in a teasing tone.
"I guess I must have just hoped that it wouldn't be true. But if he is going this far, I guess it's fine. Nothing I can do about it. That problem will have to be solved by his parents." Iron Blood answered halfheartedly.
The void around us shook with a violent intensity, as if to announce the start of something huge. And huge it was indeed. Yang Kai's breakthrough to the 8th rank open heaven realm began. And just as it did, all of the 7th ranks from the Cave Heaven Paradises watched on in awe. To them, Yang Kai was a brat that simply surpassed all reason. Even still, this was an excellent chance to watch a real 8th rank breakthrough, a truly rare thing to happen. However, this was going to be one unlike any other... And soon it was blatantly obvious why that was.
