A Point To Catch Him

~Wang Family Residence~

Before the first ray of sunshine could seep into Mark's room, he had already gone for a run at the golf course area of the vast land of his family's estate.

As soon as he finished a forty-five-minute run, he jogged back into the house and found his way back to his bedroom while ignoring the servants' greetings.

His hearing was blocked by the set of black ear pods in his ears, and he could care less anyway.

Straight away, Mark went to the bathroom to shower and when he was done, he got dressed in an Adidas set polo and joggers. Next, released his long hair from the knot and it fall on his shoulders before spraying two different scents on himself.

After checking himself out, he picked up his car key from the drawer at the nightstand before making his way toward the door. But as soon as he pulled it open, he came face to face with his mother who was standing there with a moderate smile on her lips.

"G-Good morning, Ma," Mark greeted while trying to hide the surprise in his eyes.

"Good morning," Mrs Wang replied. Today, she was in a polka-red-dotted white gown that reached beneath her knees. "Going somewhere?" she asked while checking him out with her gaze.

Mark felt like he was being X-rayed and quickly cleared his throat. "Yes… Ummm…"

"It doesn't matter." She waved him off. "Come have breakfast first," she said to him before turning to lead the way.

Rachel Wu had made it a point to catch him at the right place and at the right time today, and she succeeded, thanks to her quick wits and determination.

"Aren't you coming along?" she asked, just as she stopped in her steps after she noticed that he wasn't following.

'Fuck!' Mark cursed under his breath before stepping forward.

Seeing that he was going to be obedient now, Rachel smiled at him and continued in her steps, leading them to the large majestic family dining area.

"Good morning brother!" Eric greeted with stars shining in his eyes as he waved to Mark. He was the first person in the room to notice his presence.

Apart from Eric, two other people were sitting at the long dining table. Old Mrs Wang and Michael Wang who happened to be Mark and Eric's father, and also, Rachel Wu's husband.

Seeing that Mark was joining them for breakfast after a long while, the old lady smiled and watched him close in on them.

"Mark?" she called out with a smile that reached her eyes. "Grandma," Mark greeted as he stopped beside her and leaned in to kiss both of her cheeks.

"I am delighted to see you here. Although we live in the same house, it is so rare to meet you," the old lady teased with a low chuckle escaping from her lips.

Old Mrs Wang was in her middle eighties. She had several grey strands of hair that stood out in her knot perm hairstyle. She had a few wrinkles, but her smile was radiant.

Mark smiled and went to take his seat before saying 'good morning' to his father who didn't bother to respond.

The dining room was large with a long rectangular table carved from a solid oak wood and several chairs around it. This showed that it was meant to serve several people but unfortunately, only five people were sitting around it today as the early birds had already left the house for their different businesses.

"How would one be able to see him when he lives in a hotel?" Michael Wang said in passing without lifting his gaze from his food.

He sounded as if he didn't care about it, deep down, he was boiling in rage. "I wonder how one manages to live in a hotel room when he has a big and comfortable home millions are dying to have," he added.

Eric snuck a peek at Mark before shifting his gaze to their father. The young man didn't know if he should be relieved that he was not the morning's subject of interest or mourn that his brother was receiving the admonishment.

He was confused as to which emotion to keep on his face.

"Husband, you should let him be if he finds peace there," Rachel said to her husband after withdrawing her stare from him. She did not support his attitude in any way.

After managing to get Mark to join them at the dining table, she didn't want anything to stop him from coming anymore.

Already, he was a difficult person to deal with.

"Who finds peace in a hotel instead of a home? They can only be unserious people who do not have anything to do with their lives anymore." Mr Michael Wang made sure to meet Mark's gaze while saying that.

A soft sigh escaped the old lady's lips as she turned to glare at her son. "If you are done eating, you should leave," she said to him.

"I've still got a lot of dishes surrounding me," he replied. In an actual sense, he meant that he was not done talking yet. And just like that, he turned his attention back to Mark.

He stared hard at the long locks that fell on his shoulders. Unable to appreciate the standard of his hairstyle, he displayed his displeasure. "When are you going to cut your hair?"

"I don't know." Surprisingly, Mark replied. But that response only irked his father more.

"Are you a woman? Do you think that haircut is appropriate for the COO of Luxumoon? Also, when are you going back to work?"

As Mark listened to his father bombard him with questions that did not concern him, he threw a glance at his mother as if to show her the reason he preferred to dine alone. But that did not stop him from defending himself.

"My hairstyle is my choice to make."

Understanding his unspoken words, Rachel glanced at her husband who was sitting next to her. "Mark doesn't work for you, why are you so concerned?" she asked. Honestly, she was tired of him as well, but this is how he has been when things do not go his way.
