“Mark, if you help me, I promise I will do anything for you in return. Just as long as cheating is not involved.”

“You will do anything I want?” Mark probed, his eyes glittering as he focused on her. He now seemed more interested in her promise than in whatever it was she wanted from him.

“Yes, I give you my word.”

Mark stared into her eyes and seeing how desperate she was, he leaned back into his seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Careful what you promise, Darling, I’m not a good boy.” 

“I don’t care,” Elena replied with determination in her eyes. “I’m not a good girl either.”

Elena cuddled Mia on the sheets before helping her get down from the bed. Next, she put some toothpaste on her small pink toothbrush and handed it over to her.

Mia thanked her and proceeded to start brushing her teeth after climbing the stool in front of the mirror in the bathroom.

Elena's gaze landed on the two pigtails mounted on her head and asked, "Did grandma make your hair for you?" Mia nodded in response.

'That does look like her handiwork.'

A few minutes later, Elena helped Mia to wash up while chatting with her. Wrapping her in a big mint green towel, she walked her to the room and rubbed her baby cream all over her body before giving her clothes one after the other.

She was teaching her to wear her clothes by herself, and the little girl did it slowly. Everything was almost perfect until she got stuck trying to pass her head into a round-neck long-sleeve polo.
