“Mark, if you help me, I promise I will do anything for you in return. Just as long as cheating is not involved.”

“You will do anything I want?” Mark probed, his eyes glittering as he focused on her. He now seemed more interested in her promise than in whatever it was she wanted from him.

“Yes, I give you my word.”

Mark stared into her eyes and seeing how desperate she was, he leaned back into his seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Careful what you promise, Darling, I’m not a good boy.” 

“I don’t care,” Elena replied with determination in her eyes. “I’m not a good girl either.”

"You are six weeks gone. Congratulations!" The doctor smiled down at Elena as she removed the rubber gloves from her hands.

A small smile crept up at the corner of Elena's lips. This was the first time she was happy to be pregnant, and was genuinely looking forward to meeting her child.

"Thank you," she said as she sat up on the bed and accepted the napkins the doctor handed her. She used it to wipe the gel off her belly after seeing her baby through the scan.

"Now that your pregnancy has been confirmed, you have to get on medications…" The doctor went on to state important details that she needed to note while pregnant. And since Elena has gone through pregnancy before, she was not new to a greater percentage of what she heard.

While Elena sat in front of the doctor's desk and listened to her, the nurse got her pregnancy test results, and the pictures from the conducted scan ready.
