“Mark, if you help me, I promise I will do anything for you in return. Just as long as cheating is not involved.”

“You will do anything I want?” Mark probed, his eyes glittering as he focused on her. He now seemed more interested in her promise than in whatever it was she wanted from him.

“Yes, I give you my word.”

Mark stared into her eyes and seeing how desperate she was, he leaned back into his seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Careful what you promise, Darling, I’m not a good boy.” 

“I don’t care,” Elena replied with determination in her eyes. “I’m not a good girl either.”

She had her ex-journalist friend telling her about the things happening but in and outside of their social circle.

Even though Sarah was an elite now and had left the journalism field for a while, she still had other friends who were still in that field. Those contacts were especially beneficial for a time such as this.

"… I know you ladies haven't heard about it…" Sarah got off her bed, and while holding her phone away from her face, she walked straight to her living room.

She was currently on a video call with Elena and Chloe.

"There is no way we would have heard about it. At least, your past contacts were able to give you information," Chloe said while snacking on a dry almond nut.

"Still, I am not satisfied," Sarah sighed.
