“Mark, if you help me, I promise I will do anything for you in return. Just as long as cheating is not involved.”

“You will do anything I want?” Mark probed, his eyes glittering as he focused on her. He now seemed more interested in her promise than in whatever it was she wanted from him.

“Yes, I give you my word.”

Mark stared into her eyes and seeing how desperate she was, he leaned back into his seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Careful what you promise, Darling, I’m not a good boy.” 

“I don’t care,” Elena replied with determination in her eyes. “I’m not a good girl either.”

By the time Mark tried to reach Eric again, his line wasn't going through, so he left him a text before calling Caro back.

Caro was not pleased learning that Eric's line could not be reached. She didn't want to accept that fate, but she didn't say anything to Mark either.

"As soon as I get through to him, I will let you know. But if you have Chang May's contact number, you can call her first," Mark said to her.

"Okay," Caro replied. As soon as their conversation ended, she quickly tried to put a call to May.

No matter how much she disliked the woman, she could not avoid calling her knowing she was with Eric.

Two rings later, May answered the call.

"Hello," May said while taking a peep at Eric who was behind the wheel with a line on his forehead.

Caro: "I've been trying to reach him and his line is not going through. Can you please pass the phone to him?"
