"Transcendence..."
The mastermind behind the scenes couldn't help but recall events from the remote and ancient times as he watched the cultivation experiences burn to ashes.
After achieving transcendence, his very existence surpassed causality; his words and deeds untouched by it, unbound and undetectable by anyone, he could do whatever he desired.
He could incarnate into thousands, experiencing the myriad facets of life; he might become the leader of a tribe, ruling for hundreds of years, leading the tribe to grow and annexing others, or he could become a loose cultivator, calling friends for a drink and reveling, carefree for a millennium. Once he had had his fill and grown weary, he would vanish without a trace, and the world would self-correct what he had done.
In the tribe's memory, there was someone else as their leader; his fellow loose cultivators also had no recollection of him, with other reasons explaining the events.
