Stereotype (2)

Shawn POV

After a short discussion, it was decided between the 2 of us that we'll just have me sneak in closer to eavesdrop on them while Perseus stays far away within range.

If something's going sour, Perseus will swoop in and walk by, since he stands out, he'll get Ollie's attention and lure him away from Kiera who can use this chance to either get help or just go away in silence.

We'll take the brunt of the hit since we're probably not going to be on good terms with this guy on probably both the short and long run.

"...I'm not joining your group!" Kiera exclaimed once I was within range "I'm doing it solo."

Ah, the final project, we don't know what it is, but we are told that we can either do it solo or do it in a group of 3, someone managed to ask a senior and they weren't allowed to say what it was, but it is hinted at being a combat-related task.

I'm doing it in a duo of course since Perseus is someone I can trust when it comes to those things, but people can opt for solo to really test themselves and have the chance of achieving the higher score since there are fewer criteria, or so we're told by Mr. Arthur.

But Ollie...just as Mr. Arthur said, he already has subordinates from the other classes, behind him are 2 people, most of which are his own friends that he made through his family's connection. I was warned by Mr. Arthur privately that I might be an easier target than Perseus because I don't stand out that much compared to him.

I then asked for some background about Ollie, even if he's talented, at some point, that attitude will want to steer everyone from working with you. Mr. Arthur then did send me a report about Ollie, though I was told to not share it with anyone, even Perseus.

The report was made with comments from all his previous teachers and the observance of scouts sent by the school.

Oleander 'Ollie' Maddox is driven by an insatiable desire to be the best and claim the title of 'number 1' in any aspect of his life. Born into a highly competitive and achievement-oriented family, Max was raised with the expectation of excellence in everything he pursued.

From an early age, Ollie displayed an exceptional level of ambition and an intense hunger for success. His parents, both renowned sorcerers constantly emphasized the importance of being at the top, whether it was in academics, magic, sports, or social standing.

Growing up in such an environment, Ollie developed an unwavering belief that being the best was the only path to true recognition and validation.

However, Ollie's pursuit of greatness quickly took a dark turn. He adopted quite a merciless approach to his endeavors. In his quest for supremacy, he discovered that belittling and bullying others gave him a sense of power and control.

His relentless drive for dominance led Ollie to excel in various areas, including academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. He became the star athlete on the school's track team, the top scorer in his school, and even has quite a decent following on social media.

While his achievements were undeniably impressive, they came at the cost of leaving a trail of shattered egos and broken spirits in his wake, most of whom are those he identify as inferiors.

Ollie's arrogance and bullying tendencies further intensified as he gained recognition for his accomplishments. He basked in the fear and resentment his peers held toward him, relishing the feeling of superiority that came from being 'number 1', since he knows that no one can go against his family.

Ollie used it as a tool to cement his dominance and ensure that no one could challenge his reign.

Mr. Arthur did say that behind his façade of arrogance and superiority lies a deep fear of failure. Max's relentless drive stems from a desperate need to prove his worth to himself and his family.

He is haunted by the thought that if he relinquishes his throne as the "number 1', he will be deemed insignificant and overlooked. This fear fuels his determination to crush anyone who dares challenge his supremacy, perpetuating a vicious cycle of bullying and intimidation.

Though he's no longer as aggressive after coming here due to being under the watchful eyes of the staff of Phoenix Academy, he knows that even his family can't go against our instructor, but that's only inside of school, outside, it's fair game unless he takes things too far, his family will usually help him get out of trouble.

"Look, just leave me alone and go hang out with your own friends in your own time, I'm busy." Kiera said as she then walked away.

It seems that he thinks that she's too much of a hassle, so he didn't pursue her further, though it's quite obvious that he was irritated at being rejected for her to join his team.

"Damn it, first you 2 getting replaced by 2 bums and now that bitch not wanting to...hah." he sighs in frustration, "Why can't you 2 have done better? You got wands."

He then led the 2 walking behind him and went away as I went back to my brother.

"I kinda want t see the redemption arc of that guy, I can't wait to see the debates between our fans talking about whether he made up for all the crap he's probably done in the past." Perseus said

"Our life isn't some sort of fictional story."

"Oh, it is." he said in an enthusiastic tone "Won't be long till one of us raise some sort of death flag and we'll go through some emotional scenario for character development."

"Do you want to play with death or something?"

"Maybe." he just shrugged "but even death can't kill us if we have plot armor."

"What the hell is plot armor?"

"This is why you should read more, but maybe...if you're dense and dumb...you'll probably attract a harem, you should maybe grow out your hair on the front long enough to cover your eyes too..."

"Yeah, I don't trust you."

"But I'm your brother." he responded with a surprised look

"Exactly."
