Stereotype

Perseus POV

After that 3 weeks, we are to return back to school for one week, it's probably going to be a long week, but nothing we can do about it. For the first morning back, we woke up early to keep up with our training since we were trying to build up some muscles, it's unusual since most just do cardio to build up stamina.

It's what I usually do, I need to last a long time, so having a lot of stamina helps, and as I said earlier, it's very unusual for sorcerers to build up muscles as you don't really require any to cast a spell.

The military has many tasks that require you to build up your body, and many other training exercises that can take time away from magic training, that's why sorcerers should always aim for the 4 great academies even if they know that they can't make it.

The military on TM Island does give slightly more time toward magic training, so people would want to train with the military here instead of that in their own countries.

We went to the gym and took our run, after everything was done, we got back to the apartment for breakfast and wash up before we head for our class where today's lesson is about the history of sorcerers' weapons, and so we were brought to one of the armory's large testing area that is reserved for our class.

Mr. Arthur started the class by demonstrating his skill to cast a spell without a talisman, he cast a wind spell which got crazy real fast because a tornado shot out of his hand and hit the other wall and destroyed it in an instant while most of us were getting sucked in as well, luckily he ended it quick.

"Magic without a tool to channel it can become uncontrollable." he explained "Worst case scenario will have you be the reason for your own deaths. And there is another disadvantage that is also an advantage for us, with a tool like a wand or a talisman, your powers are more amplified while also using a lesser amount of mana."

He then took out this wand, but unlike a usual wand where I can sense spells already being imbued into, I sense none from this one.

"We got our title as wizards and witches from our use of the wand." he said while swirling around the wand "At the beginning when we found out that channeling our magic through a tool can lessen our mana, we used a wand or the more durable version, a staff.

"But unlike now where we use it as a last resort or to just store precast spells, we used it similar to how we use a talisman today, we cast with the wand, but the wands not only require the purer and higher quality of the hex wood, making them limited in number, but they also deteriorate faster than we can afford them.

"So us sorcerers mostly had to cast without a tool to channel our powers, wasting our mana while also sometimes making teamwork impossible since we can't stay close to each other to avoid being killed by the hands of your own comrade."

Fair enough, but by needing to mass-produce the hex trees, we now need more land for them and have to cut out other products just for the production of the hex trees, even with earth magic helping to make things grow faster and healthier, and land would be harder and harder to come by as we are gradually and slowly losing land to the angels.

Humanity just doesn't have enough sorcerers to fight back, God can just create more angels and it's not like every human born is guaranteed to become a sorcerer, maybe those who already possess a sorcerer in their lineage, it's why the UPF encourages sorcerers to date regular humans to increase the birth rates of sorcerers.

We then learn of other tools we used in the past, some of which are still used today, one of which is the mana bullets. Regular guns with regular projectiles usually don't affect an angel unless it's like some sort of high-grade missile.

But you can switch regular bullets with those that are imbued with mana, they affect angels even with smaller firepower, but unlike most bullets, mana bullets are just made to embed in the skin.

They hit the weak spots in between the armor plating and once it's embedded, well, to put it in simple terms, it works similar to a venom bullet. When a venom bullet hits its target, the impact ruptures the encapsulation, releasing the venom. And the mana of humans inside will injure them from within, it's usually not fatal though.

After learning about the few weapons, we head back to class for our regular lecture.

Since Mr. Arthur dismissed us early today, we went out to just explore the island a bit, and I made sure to stray further away from Tiger Academy, I don't want attention since my girlfriend is quite a celebrity on this island after the first semester of her first year.

We took the train and stopped by the island's biggest mall, Maximus Mall...why did they name this island Titan Maximus or whatever, it's so stupid, but I'm just a guy with a blindfold, I have no say in stuff like that.

It's not like we even have walls surrounding our island which it may be made of certain groups of giants and I'm not even making any reference in particular.

As we explored the mall, we came across someone familiar from our class, I don't know who though.

"Kiera Sullivan." Shawn told me "Comes from the Sullivan family, famous for producing sorcerers with the dark affinity."

|Most brief descriptions of class A students are in chapter 13. Just a helpful reminder.|

"Seems like she's in trouble with our old friend."

"Yeah, Ollie." Shawn replied

"Like does he really have to play the villain role here? Like he doesn't have to have every stereotype possible."

"Should we help?" he asked "She's from a prominent family, he'll have a hard time doing anything compared to us."
