The Faes

Perseus POV

"Before anyone says anything, I vote for us to not approach that."

"Why?" Julie asked, "We learned that Hokkaido's survivors have a settlement here, and that may be one of their ways to tell others the direction of their hideout."

"They can't be that stupid, the angels would have seen it first, besides even if it's a human settlement, that light blobs trail is probably one of their traps to lure in an unsuspecting angel."

"He's right." Captain Ida agreed, "Angels are on a constant lookout for human settlements, so that is definitely one of their traps, but the good news is that it must mean one is definitely close by, bad news, we'll have to approach the trap and get noticed by a scout, so we can be at risk since the humans on this island change the traps constantly, so we won't know what we're dealing with."

The officers are ordered to follow Captain Ida's orders and so are we, he's a Japanese local, so if we were to encounter a settlement, his words have more value.

We'll just follow the orders and give opinions if we deem it necessary.

We approach those lights and the closer we got, the more we realize that these blobs of light were living beings, to be faeries. They were these tiny humanoid creatures with wings.

The officers went ahead to scout and the faeries retreated, but when they returned to us, the faeries emerged again.

The scouts said that there were no signs of human activities nearby nor were there any traps. The prof took out this scanning device and told us that these creatures were real, not an illusion.

"Fairies, it's the first time I've encountered such beings." The prof uttered in amazement.

"No offense, I don't want to ruin the mood here, but are fairies or faes, or whatever the hell they're called, aren't they mischievous and shouldn't be trusted?"

"Ah Blessed one, those are the tales of our relatives." one of them came forward and denied it.

Blessed one...I see, so their terminology is different, instead of calling me a marked one, they used blessed one...well, I don't know much about it, and I certainly don't feel blessed.

A Japanese-speaking fairy, great. My life is like a real-life fairy tale at this point, I just now need an evil stepmother, some stepsisters, and a beautiful princess that I'm fated to woo.

But this fairy...it looks like one of those European ones, so what is it doing all the way here in Hokkaido?

"Some of our earlier ancestors came all from the place they called 'Europe'. Those tales would apply to them if you were to still meet them in their place of our origin." The same fae said.

The one speaking to us is mostly green in color. She has green hair, green eyes, and a green dress. She's about the size of about half a human's head and looked like a woman in her early 20s or late teens.

"Blessed one, apologies for our shy behaviors, we would have approached you earlier if it weren't for our shy attitude." she apologized.

"How can I trust you?"

"Hmm....umm...apologies, I understand that our reputation may not be the best, but we cannot lie to a blessed one."

"What is your name, ma'am?"

"My name is Midori, blessed one."

"I see, is it possible that you can lead us to a place of safety for me and my friend, we just want to hide from the angels."

"I understand, but I would have a request in return, it's that your friends are to allow us to put on some blindfolds so that they can't know where we're going."

"What about me? I can see through mine."

"You are a blessed one, we are to accommodate you, and as for your companions, the blindfolds will blind even you, we are taught to keep our safe haven a secret, only a blessed one may know."

I then turned to the others who were just keeping quiet and observing the situation.

"Well, anyone wants to experience seeing from my perspective?"

"I'll ask questions later, but for now, we can vote on it." Captain Ida replied, "Raise your hands if you want to go with the fairy."

It didn't take long, but it was unanimous.

*****

I was to walk in the back and sort of guide them when they walk, they struggle to walk properly without their sight as we trudged deeper and deeper into the forest. One of the navy officers tried to activate a tracking device earlier, but one of the faes just deactivate it with magic before we all then get inspected.

They did everything to disable anything that can get us found, most of us found it suspicious because they could be trying to have us never be found again.

I used magic to then create several platforms of light for them to sit and just levitate them to our location, took a while, but we were led to this cave with broken and scattered pieces of angel armor. It should hide our presence for a while.

"Are the angels your enemy too?"

"No, they always left us alone." Midori answered, "But even then, we have gathered pieces of their armor to hide our village just in case, we also used our own magic to hide from humans."

"You said earlier that your village is near this area, so why were you so far away?"

"We sensed your presence, and our group was sent to check. But for now, please rest, there's a lake and river south of here, you may wash or get your water there. I will go and inform the elders that you're here, try to stay, I'm sure they would like to meet you, blessed one."

She then turns to Shawn.

"The elders would want to meet him as well." she said before signaling the others.

They then took off their enchanted blindfold and left.

"So, first the angel called you a marked one, and the fairies called you a blessed one. What are you exactly?" Professor Everett asked.

Alright, which one should I go with; 'I am your father.' or 'I am the chosen one.'.
