We Got A Map (2)

Perseus POV

"Go back, you're not accompanying me to the coast, it's dangerous there."

"Remember your own words?" she asked before trying her best to imitate me, "We're a team, and that means we face life's challenges together."

"I would say that I regret that I helped you regain your old self a bit, but I don't. Though your ability to quickly bounce back is fast, it took me years to become what I currently am."

Currently, I'm heading to the coast, I want to see if there's any possible escape route through the waters and to see if there are any gaps within the patrolling angels so that we can head back through the waters.

We got close to it, this wasn't the same coast where we arrived in, ours was far away as we rode around the island and arrive at a somewhat empty coast, but this one got a port.

We then hid in the forest as we can see that there were quite a few demons nearby.

"It's a small port, but I can see some cargo and those buildings...they'll definitely have some clothes and other necessities."

As I cautiously observe from a safe distance, I notice that the small abandoned trading port is filled with hostile angels.

The once-thriving structures now stand as a desolate backdrop to the ominous presence of these celestial beings. Their presence must have definitely driven any human survivors away, even if any remained, I doubt any of em were spared.

These angels, unlike in fairy tales, are far from being benevolent and gentle, I can see all the bloodstains at the scene, yet no corpses or any rotten being that belonged to a human, probably expelled from the scene.

They move with a somewhat predatory grace, their movements sharp and calculated. The air emits an eerie energy as they swoop and dive through the abandoned port. Their purpose remains unclear, but it is evident that they harbor a deep hostility towards any humans that dares to intrude upon their domain, but their eyes were mostly on the water.

From a safe vantage point, I cannot help but feel a sense of unease. The abandoned trading port, once a hub of life and commerce, has now become a menacing lair for these angels, without any map or info on the location, it'll be hard to go in alone.

It is a stark reminder of the fragility and unpredictability of the supernatural world, where celestial beings can possess not only beauty but also a dangerous nature, the world has just turned to crap ever since these guys came into my life.

"You're not planning on going there alone, are you?" She asked, "If so, I'm stopping you, I've lost a lot of my friends already, I'm not having you risk your life going there."

"I wasn't, at least...not today, we're like hours away from our shelter, we need to head back, I'll use magic to give us a lift back, but we'll have to report of this spot."

"You're going to get grilled so hard, my dad already doesn't like you that much."

"Well, it can be worse, it's not like he tried to kill me."

"If he was allowed, I'm sure he would have."

"Yeah, but not only did I not die, I still have all my limbs intact, cool, huh."

"You are strangely lovable, you know that?"

"No, no girl would like a guy like me, you're the only weirdo who somewhat finds me attractive."

"Say, I got a question if you don't mind." she asked nervously.

"Shoot."

"Why do you still have only one affinity despite practicing magic for so long? Are you purposefully holding yourself back or are you going to be a 1 affinity guy forever?"

"I got tested, don't worry, I have the ability to hold multiple affinities, I'm simply just incredibly slow. You do know that the only way to hold yourself purposefully is that stupidly expensive armband, right? Why the hell would I spend so much money on that item just so I can restrict myself? I'm still only 17, I got years to go."

"Yeah, didn't think about that."

I then looked at the abandoned port once again, I can see some ships which the angels haven't destroyed, a few angel captains, and about a hundred visible regular angels, if the ships still have fuel and is fast enough, this is a weak enough spot for us to just ride straight out of their territory.

We don't have to get to the mainland for safety, just far out enough in the waters that a rescue squad can safely pull us out without anyone dying.

This is definitely the weakest spot so far, but I doubt our group can take on this bunch of angels by just ourselves.

And as expected, I am now grounded by both Captain Ida and Professor Everett for wandering too far, Minerva got off easy while I had to bare the maximum punishment of taking tonight's shift of watching over everybody and a bit more over the next few days.

I'm also not allowed to wander past our pond, they can't stop me even if I were to disobey, but I'm not looking for trouble. We're gonna need chemistry on this island.

"Well, we'll need to report it back now, but we also need to go so far out of range for us to inform them of this base." Captain Ida said, "However, with this map, it's now easier to pin down our location since the port you talked about is right here."

He pointed at the map.

"Did you 2 check to see if you have any signal?" he asked.

"One bar." Minerva answered, "You'll be able to give a text with a slow sending speed."

"We'll also need to discuss whether we'll report the existence of our saviors, the moment we do, they'll search this place, won't be long till they narrow the location down whether we tell em or not." the captain said, "I personally wouldn't since they are our benefactors, but I can't say if the rest of you share the same opinion."
