Humanoid V1

"Dada home!" Rinka said, being the first one to greet Minos as he entered.

Smiling, Minos lifted Rinka from the floor and hugged her into his arms. He was initially worried that she would take a long time to get used to him, but it seemed he worried for nothing.

"How was work, honey?" Tinka asked with a gentle smile.

"Good, I made quite a bit of progress." Minos replied.

"Well come join us, we were just about to have dinner." Meninka said.

Taking a seat, Minos joined the family for the last meal of the day. Ever since Rinka was born, Ronkus and Meninka insisted that the three move back here, and considering the state of their 'house' Minos and Tinka obliged.

Thinking about it, Minos had to put building a new home on his long list of chores, the state of that little cabin they lived in far from being a family home.

"So, have you made any ground on the curse?" Ronkus couldn't help but ask.

"It's a little early for that, but soon hopefully."

"Don't stress the boy, let him go at his own pace." Meninka couldn't help but reprimand.

Hearing his wifes scolding, Ronkus could only shrink his head back into his meal, also realizing that he was being a bit pushy.

After everyone was finished eating, Minos, Tinka, and Rinka headed back to their room, laying down on the bed as they were prepared to call it a night.

"Dada, tell me story!" Rinka asked, not feeling tired at all.

"Story, huh? Well daddy's got quite a few, how about the story of the princess and the frog?"

"Dat one, dat one!" Rinka said excitedly.

"Well it goes like this, one day a beautiful princess called Tinka was walking by a pond before hearing a shout. Interested, she headed towards the noise before finding a frog!"

"... And then, finally after their long journey and beating the dragon, the princess gave the frog a kiss, turning him into a prince, the two living happily ever after."

"Wowwww, mama a princess?" Rinka asked.

"Of course, and guess what that makes me? Ribbit!" Minos said, causing Rinka to break out into loud laughter, Tinka also giggling on the side.

"Well enough stories for one night, after all, even princesses need sleep." Minos said, as he gave Rinka a kiss on the head.

"Okay dada, goodnight." Rinka said as she yawned, soon snoring away softly.

"So you're telling me I married a frog?" Tinka couldn't help but ask after Rinka slipped off into dreamland.

"A frog? No, no no, more like a dog." Minos growled, before gently picking Tinka off the bed and carrying her back to their cabin.

"What are you doing, what about Rinka?" Tinka said, as she playfully shoved Minos, who was princess-carrying her.

"She's fast asleep, so it's time for me to tell you a story. It's about the dog that buried his bone." Minos laughed.

"Nasty!" Tinka said, though the blush on her face exposed her true feelings.

The next morning, Minos woke up feeling refreshed, his spirit having been reinvigorated, ready for another day of work.

"Awake?" Tinka asked, as she was woken by Minos's movements.

"Mhm. We should probably go back before Rinka gets up. Don't want her crying again." Minos said.

"Good idea."

After quickly tossing on their clothes, the two headed back home before sneaking into Rinka's room and slipping into the bed as if nothing happened.

Soon after, Rinka woke up, rubbing her blurry eyes as she looked around the room, relieved to find both Minos and Tinka, unlike last time.

"Mama, dada, up!" She shouted, before getting up on the bed and jumping up and down.

"Alright alright, we're up." Minos said, as he grabbed Rinka mid-jump and placed her on the floor.

"Let's go have breakfast." Tinka said, as she helped Rinka change her clothes.

Joining Ronkus and Meninka in the dining room, the five had a nice sumptuous breakfast before Minos took Rinka for her lessons.

This time, a few other children joined her, Tinka having told Ronkus about Minos's idea which he naturally agreed to joyfully.

Without much struggle, pretty much every family in the tribe with a child between the ages of 5-10 sent their children, forming a small army in front of Minos.

At first glance, there were at least a few dozen kids here, but Minos didn't feel overwhelmed, plenty used to dealing with kids.

Using his same method from yesterday, he quickly caught everyone's attention, teaching them the foundations of language.

After the lesson was over, Minos spent a little longer playing with Rinka before heading back to his cave and getting to work creating the Humanoid V1.

With his Omniscient Eyes, the process was a painless one, and soon enough, Minos had a fully working human-like puppet.

Unlike before, however, he now actually had Nux, which meant he didn't have to bother using strings like he did in the past.

After controlling his Nux very delicately, he created a Nux String, attaching it to the puppet like usual before gaining full control.

If there was a difference between Nux strings and regular strings, it would be the fact that Nux strings could travel through any object, meaning a puppet could work even when they were seemingly cut off from their user.

Beyond this, Nux strings were also far more flexible, and pretty much had no range limit, only constrained by the amount of Nux and control the user had.

For Minos, who's puppeteering abilities were already quite advanced, this change allowed them to go through another evolution, allowing him to utilize each puppet as if they were a real human.

Controlling the puppet, he had it pick up a pen and get to work writing some of his thoughts, it's penmanship pretty much no different from his own.

After a few more tests, Minos was confident in saying that other than pure strength, the puppet was pretty much no different from a normal human.

Of course the puppet itself was made out of pretty cheap material's, so when it came to tasks of strength, even a normal human could outdo it, but that was an easy fix.

Now the only problem was how to see what the puppet could see so that he could use it from long distances.

Fortunately, the Lukalu people had already long given Minos a solution, so with a plan in mind, he headed back to Underwood City to get the needed supplies.

The journey was a quick one, and soon enough Minos was back in the cave, everything he needed stored away in his spatial ring.

After some work, Minos had a Crystal Display and a Crystal Recorder, though their quality was far from being comparable to the Lukalu peoples.

Underwood City didn't have everything he needed, so Minos could only create a much lower-quality version of the two devices, which was already enough for what he was doing.

After fusing the small visor-like Crystal Recorder onto the puppets face, Minos began fiddling with it for a moment before switching it on.

As the Crystal Recorder activated, a weak light began emanating from its surface. Looking back at the Crystal Display, Minos found that nothing had changed.

Confused, he thought back for a moment before realizing his problem. Tweaking the Crystal Recorder for a moment, Minos looked back at the Crystal Display, happy to finally find something appearing.

The image was incredibly blurry at first, but as Minos refined the signal, the quality quickly raised, soon reaching its limit.

Despite doing his best, the image quality was still quite poor, but that was no fault of his own, but rather because of the limited quality of the material he had used.

Despite not being fully satisfied, it was good enough for the moment, so with everything working, Minos began controlling the puppet to head out of the cave.

With the Crystal Display, Minos watched as the puppet headed towards the tribe, its strange appearance spooking all the people it passed by.

After walking around a hundred meters away or so, Minos stopped, his Nux puppet string having reached its limit by this point.

Seeing the puppet come to a sudden halt, some tribe members couldn't help but come up and poke at the puppet, the smarter one's realizing it was probably something Minos had created and explaining it to the rest.

While a small crowd had gathered around the puppet, Minos was scratching his chin as sudden realization came to mind.

While his Nux string seemed to have a limit of a hundred meters, the signal between the Crystal Recorder and Crystal Display didn't seem to be affected much, making it clear their limits were much further.

With that in mind, why couldn't he use that same signal technology to manipulate his puppet, further increasing its operation range?

Of course, such an idea had a few flaws, but it was definitely worth consideration. Writing it down in his notebook, Minos decided to put it on the back burner for now, deciding to finish with the work on hand before starting another project.
