Chapter 33 A Sick Feeling

Two weeks later

Sherry yawned and rubbed her eyes. It was a small wonder how she had got through those days in the country home, amidst the discomfort. First, that she had to carry out her act all the way. Kissing Stark in front of his parents and relatives, and acting intimate with a person she didn’t love.

Second, the two pesky flies: Stark’s uncle and cousin, who would not seem to leave her alone. It took her so long to forget Matthias’ mouth on her chest, but nothing seemed to end with him. He would pester her while she was washing dishes and weeding in the garden. Yes, these were what Stark ordered of her. To stay clear of Matt, she hid in her bedroom after dinner. While Stark probably was enjoying the time of her life with his shameless cousin. She didn’t know and didn’t care for what they did.
