“What was he doing here at this time of the night?” Aaron demanded, snapping at my heels like a puppy as I marched to the sanctuary of my bedroom. “You’re not supposed to be fraternizing with your client’s husband.”
“But I can fraternize with you?” I called out of my shoulder as I passed through the double-doors of my room. “You’re his lawyer. By the way, thanks for the warning.”
“I had no idea that Mancini had taken over the company that I work for until recently.” His eyes flashed angrily and he stepped in front of me, reaching for me. “Can you just stop for a second?” he placed his hands on my shoulders while we stood in the middle of the room. “That’s better,” he smiled and the tension melted from my body at the sight of his swirling silver-blue eyes. Aaron was lean and handsome with chestnut hair and sharp, angular features. “I missed you.”
“Don’t,” I said, curling my fingers around his wrists.
