Upon hearing that, Hailey's face grew even darker and glared at Noe coldly.
Noe pressed her lips together. Was 'Evan' doing that on purpose?
After that, Hailey dragged Noe all the way to the living room, it was only then that she shook Noe's hand off.
She fixed her eyes on Noe with a livid expression, "Who the hell is that man?"
"He's Theo's cousin," Noe replied.
"Slap!"
Without warning, a slap landed on Noe's face, Hailey had slapped her so hard that Noe's ears were buzzing.
"How could you be so shameless? It's just your first day of marriage and you're already fooling around with your husband's cousin! What are you thinking? Don't drag the William family into this mess!"
Noe lowered her gaze and touched her face, which was numb from the pain.
Then, she looked up at Hailey coldly and asked, "Why didn't you ask me if I was doing it voluntarily?"
Whenever something came up, Hailey would always tell her off without even bothering to ask her for an explanation.
"One is a good-for-nothing cripple with a disfigured face, and the other is a normal healthy man, no prizes for guessing who you would choose. Did you spend the night with this 'cousin' of your husband too?"
A gentle female voice came from the stairs, it was soft but full of malice.
As soon as Hailey saw Vivi coming down, she hurriedly walked over and asked with concern, "Vivi, are you feeling better?"
"I'm much better now, Mom," Vivi smiled at Hailey, she then walked toward Noe and said, "Noe, I can understand your feelings, But you have to take our family into consideration as well. Don't cross the line."
Just moments ago, standing by the window upstairs, Vivi had witnessed Noe and a man acting intimately in the car.
Never in her wildest dream did she expect Noe, who usually appeared to be stupid and ugly, to have the ability to seduce men.
After that, she turned to face Hailey, saying coyly, "Am I right, Mom?".
A smile appeared on Hailey's face. "Of course you're right, Vivi."
Clenching her fists, Noe pressed her lips together and did not say a word.
In the eyes of outsiders, Vivi looked just like Hailey's biological daughter.
For so many years, in order to find her feet in the William family, Hailey had been trying hard to please every member of the family, by fair means or foul. On the other hand, she treated Noe as though she was an adopted child.
Hailey retracted her smile and looked at Noe with a serious expression, "Noe, since you've already married into the Mills family, you should keep your place and not disgrace our family."
Noe lowered her eyes to hide the sarcasm brimming in them. Her expression looked as if she had been wronged as she said in a calm tone, "You've brought to mind something. If I were to go out of line one day, I wonder if the Mills family would be so pissed off that they would ruin the entire William family."
Vivi didn't expect Noe, who had always been a pushover, to utter such words. She furrowed her brows and asked, "What do you mean?"
"It's exactly what you heard." Noe lifted her head and blinked with a blank expression, looking no different from her usual self.
Did Hailey and Vivi really think that they could still boss her around?
In the past, she had allowed them to do so as she still had hopes for Hailey. However, when Hailey forced her to marry Theo on behalf of Vivi, there was no hope left.
"How dare you!"
This was the first time Noe had revolted against Vivi after being bossed around by her for so long.
She was so angry that she shot Noe a glare before turning to look at Hailey. "Mom, I was only being kind and offered her some advice. How could she act up?"
Of course, Hailey could hear the threat in Noe's words. However, when she thought that Noe had never failed to compromise with her in the past, she still put on airs and said sternly, "Noe, apologise to Vivi right away!"
