Noe looked Hailey in the eye and said indifferently, "Apologise? No way."
In Hailey's memory, Noe was smart and beautiful when she was a child.
However, as she grew up, she became the opposite.
In fact, this was the first time she had seen Noe revealing such a sharp gaze, which sent a chill down her spine.
She swallowed and turned to Vivi, whispering, "Vivi, let's just forget about it, If we push her too hard."
Although Vivi was reluctant to give up, she could only give in.
What if Noe really crossed the line and infuriated the Mills family? If the William family were to be affected, Vivi would lose everything.
Seeing they were intimidated by her, Noe headed upstairs to her room and packed up her belongings.
She had lived in William Villa for twenty years, yet she had unbelievably few belongings, as if she was living under someone else's roof.
When she went downstairs with her suitcase, the hall was empty.
Standing rooted to the spot, she hesitated for a moment before exiting the villa through the back door.
Although she didn't understand why Theo's 'cousin' seemed to be interested in her, she knew it was right to stay away from him.
After waiting at the front gate for a long time, Theo's expression darkened when Noe was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, the information regarding her he read the day before came to mind. He frowned, thinking, "Is that ugly woman being bullied by her family again?"
Having this thought, he couldn't help but touch his face which had been slapped by her.
He then snorted, convincing himself that she didn't look like a pushover.
"Sir, do you want to come in and have a seat?" said a gentle female voice.
Theo turned to look out of the car window and saw a delicate-looking woman standing by the car.
Vivi was stunned when she saw his face clearly.
She did not expect the man who was being intimate with Noe was so good-looking and charming.
How could such an outstanding man fall for a stupid and ugly bumpkin like Noe?
She made the right decision to come out and try her luck.
However, Theo could see through her easily.
He sneered, "Who are you?"
"I'm Noe's sister, Vivi." She did not mind Theo's apathetic attitude at all.
Vivi?
Theo recalled that there were two daughters in the William family, apart from Noe, the other one was none other than his fiancée.
In the eyes of ordinary people, Vivi looked gorgeous indeed. However, to his surprise, he felt that Noe actually looked more pleasing to the eye.
Not having the patience to talk to her, he asked with an expressionless face, "Where is Noe?"
"I... I guess she's still packing in her room. She asked me to invite you in," Vivi did not want to miss this opportunity.
She figured since he was related to the Mills family, he must come from a rich family too, not to mention, he looked handsome.
Seeing through her, Theo couldn't help but sneer. He would never believe that Noe had invited him into the house.
Instead, she must have already slipped out of the house!
Not even bothering to look at Vivi, Theo rolled down the window and drove off straight away.
Vivi had never been given the cold shoulder by a man.
She was so pissed off that her face turned livid.
Noe went straight back to her rented unit, since she went to college, she had been living in the school dormitory.
After she graduated and was undergoing an internship, she stayed in a rented house.
If Hailey had not locked her up at home in order to force her to marry into the Mills family, she would never step foot in William Villa.
Since Theo was not staying in the villa and refused to see her, she figured it did not make a difference if she stayed in her own house.
It was already afternoon when Noe was done unpacking. She decided to go out and do some shopping.
Her rented house was located in a famous slum in Landuvia City. Apart from not having a good public transport network, all kinds of people resided here.
As soon as she turned into an alley, she heard a loud bang.
She looked up and saw a white van charge toward her uncontrollably like a mad stray dog.
She swiftly dodged to avoid the van. When the car passed by her, the door suddenly opened and a tall man jumped out of it.
Holding his head in his hands, he happened to roll to Noe's feet.
She was about to step back when the man suddenly jumped up and pressed a cold object against her temple, his pleasant voice sounded a little familiar as he told her, "Quick, get me out of here."
When Noe looked up to see the man's face, she exclaimed subconsciously, "Evan?"
