they say that the first time you hear your loved one scream from pain, you feel the pain ten times more. And the second time, you wished you were in their place so they wouldn't have to go through it. And the third time, when the second wish didn't happen, you start blaming yourself for that pain they suffered.
That was what I felt as I stood next to Sabrina while trying to catch my breath, watching the fire on front of me.
For a long time, I felt numb and couldn't hear anything other than the heart breaking screams. I've never seen such a thing before, never heard such loud peach screaming before. And now, I watched my home getting burnt in front of me.
Sabrina was just as shocked as me because she stood there too, unmoving, our raging breaths the only other thing we were hearing asides from the screams coming from the running people in our pack.
