Chapter 2 Chapter Two

It felt as though a lifetime had gone by on this journey, even my painful cries at the loss of my father had long dried up. Meredith was leading the way with us close behind, I was unclear of the life that was ahead of me now father had gone. Meredith has hated me for as long as I can remember, her constant reminders that I’m a bastard and no one will ever want me due to that fact. The feeling of dread that I was feeling due to moving to another pack, I will have to deal with all the abuse that will follow.

We soon arrive at the border of a pack, which I’m assuming is The Blood Moon Pack. Meredith shifts but orders Harvey to remain in wolf form, which told me I was to stay where I was too. She fixes her hair frantically before making her way over to the border guards, who look over at us suspiciously.

“I need to urgently speak with my sister Luna Rebecca” Meredith tells the two guards who stood with their arms behind their backs, they turn their heads to look at each other before facing us once more.

“I’m sorry to inform you ma’am, but Luna Rebecca died a few months ago” the guard informs Meredith whose eyes go wide, that wasn’t the response she was hoping she would get.

“Than let me speak with Alpha David” she says attempting anything to get us in there, but the guard shakes his head once again looking down at her.

“Alpha David was killed a few months ago, while fighting off some vampires” the guard replies no clear emotion on his face, so they aren’t going to allow us into the pack? “His son Colten has vanished, so until he is found Alpha David’s brother has taken the role as Alpha” he tells us, which instantly makes a smirk form on Meredith’s lips.

“Oh, he will definitely let me in” she smirks taking a step back to check over her outfit, I take a deep breath in as we’re led into the grounds of the pack house.

As soon as we entered, a dark feeling takes over my body. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was happening in this pack, but Meredith kept the smirk on her lips as we carried on further. A few short minutes pass until we arrive at the pack house, where I’m finally given permission to jump from Harvey’s back, who soon shifts to stand beside me in human form. A tall man walks out of the pack house, who’s eyes immediately move to Meredith who stared right back at him.

“And what has brought you into my pack?” He asks taking slow steps down the steps, the power radiating from him made me want to shrink into a little ball.

“The Midnight Pack was attacked by Alpha Thomas, we’re here to ask for protection from anymore attacks he might be plotting” Meredith says watching the Alpha’s every step, at the same moment another younger man walks out of the pack house.

His eyes immediately land on me, turning a shade darker where a smirk fills his lips. His eyes start to scan my body head to toe, which only made a huge feeling of discomfort take over my senses. He takes slow steps down the stairs just like the Alpha, but his eyes didn’t leave mine. He looked so intently at each crevice of my body that it was as though he was taking the clothes right off my back, he had an aura of such aggression that my whole body was telling me I needed to run.

Harvey seems to notice what was happening and moves so his body was covering mine, I move fully behind him taking ahold of his shirt as I went. The man in front seems to despise this and proceeds to send death glares over to Harvey, who was sending the same right back. I take a look to Meredith for help, she has to rethink her decision for us to stay here. Father would have never sent us to a place such as this. Meredith does lock eyes with me where she sends me a shake of the head, so she’s going to force us to stay here.

“We don’t have any other choice but to come here, if we leave The Luna Moon pack will be waiting to attack. But they won’t dare try if you allow us to stay here, everyone around knows how large this pack is” Meredith pleads turning away from me to look at the Alpha, who’s eyes hadn’t left her the entire time.

“The second biggest” the Alpha smiles smugly, he was just standing in until they find the rightful Alpha, so I do not understand why he’s acting so cocky “but I can see how desperate you must be to ask, as I’m a reasonable man and have definitely dealt with you in the past, I will offer you all a chance to stay here” he smiles which was exactly what Meredith wanted, but the complete opposite to what I do.

“I knew you wouldn’t be able to say no to me” she smirks playfully at the Alpha who looks her up and down, will it be bad to assume that these two have some history?

From the things I’ve heard from Meredith and what my father used to say, she was openly jealous of her older sister. She always wanted to be classed as the Alpha but my father would never allow it, but in this pack that’s exactly what her sister was. She would always complain how her sister would get all the attention from their parents growing up, I always wanted to tell her it was probably due to her sister not being bitch but I knew she’d probably attack me. But I came to learn that was how Meredith is, if she wasn’t the centre of everybody’s attention she hated it. I always got the feeling she was jealous of the attention father gave me, when I’m his daughter and came before she even met him.

The Alpha chuckles agreeing with her on that before looking over at me, the look of disgust on his face causes me to look down at the ground. I have personally never met Colten, but I hope he returns soon to take his rightful place as Alpha. This pack and my life will be much better off with Alpha Dylan being gone.
